Well, importing single cycle waves into an oscillator makes sense - it allows access to a lot of third party oscillator waveforms which are already available for synths like: Rapture, Sytrus, Octopus, Kubik, etc. to access and allow a good choice of raw sounds as a starting block for Zebra's excellent synthesis tools. Yes, you can re-create a lot of these waveforms in Zebra by hand, but why re-create the wheel if you already have them on your hard-drive?

As for full sample playback - well I agree about opening a whole can of worms. There are already many good sample playback VSTi's on the market. I wouldn't be surprised if Urs makes a seperate sampler/playback synth - he mentioned above that he is thinking of a sampling solution.

Only time, and Urs' willingness to talk, will tell ;)

Sytrus has a really elegant solution to this...using 256 formants, it estimates any wav you import and then you can use it as an oscillator. As mentioned, it's a great way to use a lot of waveforms out there, including the seemingly infinite Galbanum waveforms.
