Sounds like you just got your pad assigned to a muted or choked cymbal. Use the MPD16 utility program to re-assign the pad - just click in the top bar for the pad and type in a different MIDI note number. The MPD16 layout defaults to the general MIDI map, but not all instruments follow it.

In fact, what drum set are you using?

im using default drumkit. the upper left corner pad doesnt always trigger a muted.. this is the entire problem... and seeing as i had erased all controllers, and its still happening... this is totally perplexing me. what should i assign the note to?

I don't have EZDrummer so I can't help on the note assignments, other than to say try experimenting.

The only other thing that occurs to me is the gate time (between note on and note off) - it make be too short. I had a drum machine once where if the time between note on and note off was too short it would cut off the sound. I'm not sure if the MPD16 has a fixed gate time or if it does note off only when you remove your finger from the pad.

Perhaps there might be an option in EZDrummer to get it to ignore note off?

WAKE THE DEAD.....muuuuwhhhhhaaaaaaa!

Ok, so is there or is there not and aftertouch off in T7?

My TFP can do it........64 times and then save the template :dog: I'd rather just not have it on at all (I hate after touch)

Where's the aftertouch comng from? Most keyboards that produce it have the capability to disable it (i.e. polyphonic, channel, or off). I disable it on my XKEY as it's too touchy; but it works well from my ancient VFX.

If you can't do that, then it can be filtered before it gets to the VST instrument. Actually, lots of vst's don't even recognize it...

Yeah, remove all controllers seems to be the easiest way. Looks like the mpd16 doesn't have many settings...

I can't remember which host (maybe S1?) that had a way to just disable aftertouch.

I'll just make a template in TFP tonight and be done with it.

VST land is so much fun  You have to do 6 things to get to square one. :ud: But it's fun (and to my surprise very stable so far) to be able to use EZD2, VMR, and a couple of other things ;)
