quick, almost trivial question... can we apply the dark horse skin to the new beta without issues? I've gotten hooked on it, I'm afraid... :P

peace,

I'd recommend to use the old Zebra.txt, but replace the colour section (top section of the file) with the customized one...

Apart from some spelling differences (Portamento->Glide) the new one may contain additional info for the persistance upon gui close/open...

Cheers,

;) Urs

Will the new 2.2 release come with new Howard's patches? I'd really like to hear his clones of Moog LP patches. :hyper:
Peace, my friends. I'm not seeking arguments here. ;)

By the way, the bug with displaying Oscillator preset name on the oscillator is still there. I loaded up Transmission's 2 osc - 1 filter (XMF) (no FX) template, picking Osc PWM (LFOG1) for oscillator 1. When picking a preset for oscillator 2, the name either didn't show up or showed up at the wrong place (overwriting Mix and FX labels on the oscillator, for example).

Note that I use Unempty Darkhorse skin with the original Zebra.txt (changing only the colour section as recommended). I'm not sure if this has anything to do with the problem.
Peace, my friends. I'm not seeking arguments here. ;)

With the latest Z2.2b6 AU (OSX 10.4.10 Macbook) it looks like midimaps are not being saved.

I can map elements when I open it and use them for the duration of the session, when I close it I even see a map being created:

Code: Select all

$ cat /Users/bmrzycki/Library/Application\ Support/u-he/com.u-he.Zebra2.midimap.txt
110=PCore:X_1 //Core:X1
111=PCore:Y_1 //Core:Y1
112=PCore:X_2 //Core:X2
113=PCore:Y_2 //Core:Y2
114=PCore:X_3 //Core:X3
115=PCore:Y_3 //Core:Y3
116=PCore:X_4 //Core:X4
117=PCore:Y_4 //Core:Y4
118=main:CcOp //Main Loop Circuit:Output
However, the next time I load Z2b6 AU I see the following in the Console.App output:

Code: Select all

LOADING PREFERENCES
Preset/Script parsed in 632 Microseconds
MidiMapFile taken: /Users/bmr/Library/Application Support/u-he/com.u-he.Zebra2.midimap.txt

ok, AM_View_PresetManager -> AM_Message_ViewInitialized
PresetSaver: DefaultPresetFormat 0
After this reset all the midi maps are gone and I'm forced to re-map again by hand. I didn't do anything special when I installed Z2.2b6 other than drag the compenent into my /Users/bmrzycki/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components directory.

On the Z2.2b6 AU on a Mactel it looks fine (default Z2 skin):

Or maybe you're using the Windows version?

Yes, I'm on Windows XP here, running energyXT 1.4.1, and using Unempty Darkhorse skin.

I gotta check this out.

The stuff in the console is just some debug stuff that I hadn't taken out yet. It isn't related.

As the file gets written, I assume it just doesn't get loaded properly.

Anyone have a similar problem on Windows?

Regarding the "overwrite" on too long text, I havn't worked on that yet. I think I started on it on MacOS, but I don't think I've touched it on Windows (after the hassle I had when switching system, I think I'm still too traumatized to touch things that are too close to the system rather than layers of code that I've written by myself).

ZebraOS
I wouldn't mind Urs writing a replacement operating-system-in-a-VST. Then it's only a short leap to replace all other alternatives and obtain the ultimate synthesis-based OS! :P

Hmmm, I've checked with my .tun files and everything seems okay... can you send me one of your .tun files to urs at u-he dot com for further checks? I have a little suspicion as to a possible inconsistency in .tun files... hmmm...

Thanks,

;) Urs

File arrived, fix implemented, ready for testing soon! :)

I have a gui related BR. The graphic redraw of the dials is a bit sluggish and jumpy when moving them. It occurs when adjusting with the mouse as well as via midi controllers. It cropped up from Z2.2b5 (that was the first of the 2.2 betas I tried though so maybe not relevant) It's still a problem with b6 but is not quite as noticable as it was with b5. I'm on winXP.

Is that when tweaking the very same knob with mouse and CC?

Any ideas on the mac vst time scale?. I'm not trying to rush you, just curious.
