That's just another strange patent issue. I call it "Comb Filters" or "Physical Mud" to avoid problems, but essentially it's, uhm, *close*.

Thing is, in the same way I don't want to waste time by emulating what's already been emulated, I also don't want to push Physical Mud into directions. I furtherly highly recomend listening to Howard's latest patches that come with Z2.2 in that respect... I mean... why build a Rhodes model when you can get a Czarendorff?

I really don't care for most physical modeling.

I think the Z2 Comb Filters make the physical sounding new instruments I'm looking for!

Of course, I'll be getting 2 physical modelled instruments via the Live update.

It's really weird that Ableton chose AAS instead of U-HE......

I've maintained for a while now that if zebra included some sample player modules, with some mod abilities like the granular stuff in absynth, it would be un-stoppable for creative sound design.

Yes, anything as modulators and allowing feedback in signal path would make Zebra fully modular.

But it does get done, just like having an audio input be a mod or carrier for Phase Mod (DX Style FM synthesis) is a can of worms but FM7 tackled that years ago.

Naah - implementing feedback loops in a modular VA is a completely different kettle of fish, a much more difficult bucket of glue etc. etc..

hey! the question was "what can zebra NOT do that other synths can?"

It doesn't say anything about waffles!!

and I did not know they had vegan waffles there!!! (not far from my house

)
