ok, without controller used 7 voices were posible without clicks, that "show" cpu overload. when i pressed 8 keys - cpu-overload was heard.
SORRY i have thougt on a coffee and that opend my mind!!!!

On the SMPROAUDIO website, a section is setup with WIZARDS, Zebra2 is one of them.

If you have any others which are working let me know.

I've been attempting to play Zebra 2 on the V Machine. I can play with the intialized preset, but I can't get it to recognise nor load presets. I am using the wizard file provided from Sm Pro Audio's site and have checked to make sure it was correct. My install files for zebra 2 are default install directories etc.
Anyone have any idea what could be happening since most people here who using Zebra 2 with their V Machine are reporting success.

I wouldn't be surprised if their wizard file isn't optimal. It seems like they are creating a symbolic link when all they need to do is installing the "pre-installed" version for Receptor. (This way it can also be installed from a Mac)

The difference is that Zebra can handle stuff itself if all resources are in that Zebra2.data directory.

Hmmm.

Don't you have to own a Receptor to download and use the Receptor install version? Or am I missing something that I already should know?

In case of Zebra, there's a "pre-installed" version that is suited for the "unsupported" install on Receptor. This version apparently also works on V-machines:

(right below the normal versions)

Hello thank you Urs, I just installed the Receptor version however I still can't get Zebra to change programs or load program by using midi program changes or even recognise the presets in the V machine. It boots inside the VFX software with it's normal graphics and plays that way fine. the only way I can load a different program into the V Machine is to change the sound or switch the patch with the mouse in VFX program and then save that preset and then finally stick in the V Machine or save a bunch of presets together in one bank and then load that into the V Machine. I like to be able to switch patches on the fly. Anyhow I understand this is probably not your problem but I sincerely appreciate your feedback and help.

Yo, does Zebras internal preset browsing not work? Can you save a preset and then load it from within Zebras gui?

The Zebra internal browsing works within the VFX program if I use the mouse on the Zebra GUI but not the patch select buttons in the VFX program nor the V Machine itself. I can save a patch within the Zebra GUI.

It depends if Debra has standard PATCH CHANGE paramerters in the VST format or not. You could select a patch in ZEBRA and then save it as a preset in the VFX software if you needed it to work straight away.

Thanks for writing. For now that's the only way I can use Zebra. I'm also running into latency noise issues with Zebra and Disco DSP. For Disco DSP it was expected as always but Zebra starts to break up after 2 to 3 notes on the V Machine. I've been toying with the audio buffer and have hit and miss success.

Ok. That's how it's supposed to be. Put your favourite patches in the folder called "MIDI Programs" and you can use these, provided that V-machines let them through to plugins.

You can't load presets from within the host software because they are in a proprietary format (.h2p rather than any plugin specific). Which normally is no big deal because Zebra's internal preset loading is typically superior to host offerings. Alternatively to Midi Program Changes, you can convert your favourite presets to .fxp which may or may not be seen by the v-machine host...
