As a donater in the last DC, I would have expected some email notice or reminder of this one but only learned of it today. Perhaps keeping a list of donaters and sending them a friendly email a month before the event would be helpful for future DCsJace-BeOS wrote:the lack of funding this time compared to earlier challenges is rather stunning. sad. not that i have money to contribute either... but what about corporate support? they're the easiest and most obvious... no companies offering awards?

I hope that there will be more for all the hard work put into those VSTs,
Best of luck to all devs!

An idea : Perhaps the 10% cash prize could go to even a non entrant as a "special prize of the jury" for an overall contribution to the freeware vst scene and I'd be suggesting Christian Budde for that one for example.

my "dev's dev" would go to g200kg because he's had a large impact on other dev's projects with his excellent knobman & skinman apps - fresh, powerful, time-saving, easy to use, great results, very responsive to user request and so on ...

devs choice is good. cause its a pro's choice.
i even better like 10% for the best outside-competion freeware contribution. plus it should be a dev without any price in the DC history.
my vote for: insertpizhere
it could also be adequate to let somebody decide who has donated big money (if there is such a donation)

My vote goes to spacedad, for organizing the non-cash prize distribution.

no no no,honestly,i don't deserve it,it wasn't such a difficult job,really.
i think g200kg for his amazing free knobman and skinman, which has helped tons of devs make better softwre!
or christian w budde for all his amazing open source se modules and utilities and vst,for devs and users alike.awesome stuff, convolution, compressors, reverbs, gfx, the first se mp3 player, the list goes on.
