Well I've been playing with it for a while and can't honestly say that the swing does much of anything in most cases. Although the playback position may well have a shuffled timing, the rhythms generated in effectrix aren't so much dependent on the playback grid as they are on their own repeat times. So for example having a swing setting on a 1/16th note grid won't matter when the looper repeats at straight 1/16th's.
I commend Sugar Bytes for fulfilling this user request, however I'm guessing people weren't that clear on what they were asking for. I think most people want swing to affect the rhythm of the stutters, because that's the only place where effectrix generates new rhythms. Besides that, the input material generates the swing. For example running a shuffled beat through chorus or reverb will still be shuffled, no matter the grid. It's the repeats that need the swing setting, but we didn't really think to specify that.
Oh well, I still love effectrix!
Best thing to do in a heavily shuffled groove is to either use triplet values for the repeat timing or trigger on odd notes with a timing of double the swing value (Ex. for 1/16th note swing pattern, use 1/8th note repeat time, with the bar starting on odd numbered notes and the swing timing will be maintained).

Dear Folks,
let me shed some light on the new swing:
The sequencer can now start effects with swinged timing.
The swing amount goes up to a half step of the currently
selected sequencer tempo.
The effects themselves do not include swing for many, pretty complex reasons.
We will think about solutions, but there will not be a perfect one.
Since the looper mostly runs in different positions and time signatures, defining which part of the loop must be swinged and which should not is pretty complicated. Effect-swing could only be applied to the looper and the stutter effect anyway.
Currently I can not promise if we include swing into the effects.
Best
Rico

oh im stupid , i should explain exactly what i meant.
this swing option is kind of useless.
of course we want the effect to be in the loopers , and gate maybe.
Unfortunatelly i was waiting for this feature to buy effectrtix , but without proper swing is just not usable for me.
Hope you can implement it.

I would like to see a midi program change for de glogal presets like you did with Artillery 2.1 and the hability to have more than 1 octave in the pattern key selection.
Thanks
Thanks

Hi,
Thanks for the update Guys!
I was rather expecting the swing function to be included in the effects themselves
but I understand that it can be hard to implement.
However, I used to like the grid coloring option which highlighted the main bars on Effectrix's main grid. Has this option been removed with v1.3?
Last one (rather a feature request
) Will it also be possible to add host automation (or/and midi learn) on the global "BYPASS" button, please?
Thanks,
GilJ.

Is there a tutorial on how the new swing function works? I've been messing with it but I don't quite understand how it works. Also, is there a way to delay when the effects start? Like a small delay so the effects(stutter and looper) aren't so stiff.

We dropped the color grid for better overview in the top line
The global Bypass button would cause clicks when automated,
but we already have that on the list.

Thanks for your answer Rico.
May be you could add an option with some kind of fade in/out in case we needed to automate the "Bypass" button?
Thanks,
GilJ.
I think that I'll miss the color grid option as I found it quite to handy to quickly draw events on the grid, but I'll do withoutSugar Bytes wrote: We dropped the color grid for better overview in the top line![]()

Hello SB!
I 'm a new VERY happy customer
BUT, you new that was coming
...,
I just down loaded the PC full/update and it reads as v. 1.0.0.1 in my vst folder, but the update shows as v1.3.0 on the SB site?
Not a big deal but I thought I'd bring it up.
Thanks, ScottAC
PS my next SB plugin on my list is Artillery2 Effect Keyboard!
