@Majken. You really have a beautiful, unique synth here but it's a tad unstable. Are you planning to update it and are you making any paid-for synths? I guess you'd use something other than Synthedit? Congrats on possibly the most unique synth in the world. A solid paid for version would rock the house. It'd be my goto for haunting natural sounds.

MajorBloodnok and V'ger; as far as covers in the OSC, those match my recollections as well; 1 by Steplton in the Synth1 contest, and another one (or two?) by Dwsel along the way.
Be that as it may, my Chimera entry is:
Drusilla by mrblitz000
Renoise Host, 2 instances of Chimera
Buzmaxi3 Limter

Yup... I covered during OSC 15: StringZ2 this one: which is actually cover of this one:V'ger wrote:Yes that's right, forgot..But didn't hurt his score too much tho..
Now that I think of it, I believe Dwsel also did a cover once.
You may laugh at me but 2 bars of OSC 12 Yeager's - All Too Familiar (starting from 1:46) remind me of 'La Vie En Rose' in version played and sang by Louis Armstrong

You are spot on, only it's more the Grace Jones version (I laughed out loud when I played that solo part), there is also the Pachelbel Canon in D and a bit of Owl City Fireflies in there.dwsel wrote: You may laugh at me but 2 bars of OSC 12 Yeager's - All Too Familiar (starting from 1:46) remind me of 'La Vie En Rose' in version played and sang by Louis Armstrong
But I hoped the title somehow gave that away

This vst make me crazy... but I made some nice presets for percussive sounds... so if yo u want some hints contact me and I'll try to revisit what I've done (or even send you the presets... if you have fl studio they should work I think... I'm not sure of how to ave banks...)loquat wrote:I really like the sound of this synth, but it is going to take me some work to get good percussion sounds out of it.any hints?

The link leads to a sign-in page in my browser. You might wanna try Box.net for sharing files like presets etc, very easy and hassle-free site.

I'm finding very nice presets, but this vst is... strange. Does anybody like me doesn't listen to some sounds when you export your work in mp3 (I use fl studio). I made a nice lead, but in the mp3 it doesn't exist... I tryed to redo it, but... nothing. sometime I have to replace an instance becausesimple doesn't play any more???
For the bongo:
1 bypass warp and clip to max - HADSRT to 0
1 bypass warp to max - H0 A0 D5 S0 R5 T10
filter: lowpass q=100 cutoff=6
The rest is all to 0 (no delay)

Yeah, I had to freeze some sounds before they'd show up in the WAV (Using Live) and then some sounds - such as wind came out "gated" on one channel. Like it has a digi-clipper in it or something? If you freeze, don't forget to give the reverb a bit of time, so fade tracks down softly otherwise they clip a bit.vanmorrison wrote:I'm finding very nice presets, but this vst is... strange. So what's the general opinion when it comes to automation?
The rules say
The rules say
In a way automation could be considered an effect, so I just want a clarification of what is ok - direct modulation? only modulation via midi? anything as long as it doesn't make it "unrecognisable" (like using million lfo's and curves in a fancy way)? All Fx used must .....
**be freeware, and easily available via download.
**generally usable in a wide range of hosts
**not be used in such a way as to transform the sounds to a degree
which makes them unrecognisable as those achievable from Chimera
