two cd's later and 49 songs - all done in tracktion 2 mastered in soundforge or wavelab. i love seeing the pretty new software like studio one and the psychological games my mind plays thinking "this is cool! i bet i really make a hit with THIS new software...." but each and every time a good musical idea comes to me, i go straight to tracktion 2 and get the job done. if there are bugs, i work around it. tracktion just flows without me having to lose an important idea while trying to set up ins and outs.

i am still stuck using Tracktion.. it is a real love/hate relationship though. i upgraded to T3 so now i am stuck using it, as it fracks all your edit's tempo information so you can no longer work on them in T2 or T1. i have tried using Reaper, Studio One, EnergyXT .. but with all of them i immediately feel bogged down, and having to fight to get the technical BS to work. i can open Tracktion and within seconds get an idea down.. of course that is, if it doesn't crash on opening, or do a perma-"Program not Responding".

also a MAJOR frustration is in pasting.. it never seem to put pastes where you want.. o well..

so until i find something close to the intuitiveness of Tracktion i am condemned to the hell of using it..

Been using Tracktion since T1 and have recorded over 400GBs of music with it without a single problem. This is with a 7 piece live band so no VSTs or midi or anything to muck up the chain. For live bands that want to record *everything* it's a dream come true. I've tried every other DAW out there that I could get me hands on and Tracktion has me completely spoiled.

In fact, just out of curiosity, I just checked Musician's Friend to see if they even still sold T3 and the Ultimate Bundle is $19.99. :-o HAHA! Just ordered one to have laying around for more licenses someday or in case I want to ever brave the world of plugins/synths/midi etc. $20! Bwahaha! That's the best DAW deal around no matter how pesky T3 can be. :hihi:

Just Finished 11 song CD for a Client.. Drums recorded in Nashville with Steve Brewster...all done with Tracktion and UAD cards..sounds great.

Just finished 12 demo songs in February with T3. Loving it.

Got my T3 Ultimate Bundle at Musiciansfriend.com for $19 back in January as a late Christmas present to myself.

Simply love it. No crashes in about 40 hours of use in February.

it's ok. nice set of tools/toys comes with the ultimate bundle. but i'd probably use it a lot more if I could find some way to edit MIDI outside of the piano roll. i find that method very unwieldy. :|

at this point, it's looking like all it will be for me is a low price upgrade path to full versions of CronoX and perhaps the other two LinPlugs as well. no regrets, as I also have all those loops and Garritan works inside Logic in Kontakt. i definitely got my $20 worth. :D

Midi editing is way better in T1 (similar to Reaper's method). God only knows why they changed it to the slightly FUBAR method they opted for in T2/T3. I mostly play stuff in through keyboard

just finished the album in my sig with T3, but also installed Reaper to learn a new (frightfully overloaded with features) host and as to avoid certain T3 limitations/bugs.

anyway I know that no host will be quick and clean like Mackie's.
if there's a justice, I hope they run out of pancakes soon.

I use Tracktion 3. I love it for some some reason. It reminds me of a old stray dog I once had. I use other DAWs (Cubase and Reaper (64bit)) which are better I think, but I love Tracktion. Figure that out?

me too, including the occasional drum fill... for editing, I'm so used to numerical/event list style like in my roland mv-30 that i had forEVER, and later in logic with even more expanded select and humanize features, that it brings my workflow to a halt trying to do it using the piano roll, especially the one in tracktion.

i know i'll still use tracktion on occasion, it comes with some nice plugs and has a nice workflow otherwise. but i'm guessing i'll use some sort of step sequencing drum sampler, like iDrum, to program my patterns and fills when necessary.

I guess the one good thing they did add in was step-editing. Although I don't tend to use it, it's still a very good feature for straight crotchet-crotchet-crotchet programming styles..

Tell it brother. There is nothing with Tracktion's workflow and that's the big buy in. Ok the MIDI editor sux but hey...

Ive still use it on important stuff. But I am in the process of learning Cubase 6. Which will take some getting use to. I need Tractions GUI with Cubase features :)
