I think I see what you are suggesting. It is increasing frequencies in one area and it balances the increases with decreases across the board slightly. After trying I noticed this in FM8 as well.

Another reason I thought I would really like bazille was because I thought I would be able to drop an LFO on any knob in the entire synth. That is a dream of mine for some reason. :P

Really, Bazille is very close to this. :cool:

Any knob on all the stuff that generates sound has both a direct value and a modulation knob*, so the equivalent of dropping an LFO on any knob is quite possible. It's just a different syntax, and makes it very easy to control the depth of the modulation on the parameter.

It's generally not possible to directly modulate ADSR/LFO parameters but it's possible to modulate the output going through the multiples and 'modifiers' panel. This is pretty wildly flexible.

*Exceptions: Noise, although the multiples can modulate the amplitude. Also LFOs or the Sequencer I'd imagine, running at audio-rate, could technically generate sound but in Bazille that's sort of a mistake. Also Keyfollow on the filters doesn't have a direct mod knob but the equivalent is available via the generic mods 1 / 2.

[e] I should definitely note I had a lot of similar questions with Zebra when I started using it, there's a learning curve. My experience was, it was probably a couple weeks to really get the basics down and start getting some usable patches. From there I learned a lot from looking at patches. Still learning all the time, but it's a bit more episodic now and mostly about nuances or just different perspective.

The modular patching of Bazille / ACE is a little different, not really sure how much knowing Zebra and quite a bit more about synthesis after Zebra and some other stuff helped there. Bmrzycki recommended Synth1, I'd also add u-he Tyrell N6. It's a mostly pure subtractive and a great example of components that have a particular sound (quite lovely), which is the other side of the coin from all the technical possibilities, but no less present in u-he stuff. (I suppose saying things like that is what gets u-he users confused with sock-puppets, but IMHO it's absolutely true.)
