Wow, this thing is really deep. I'm a little overwhelmed by the possibilities. Best to take it slow and not get caught up in trying to use every feature for every patch.
I wish the spectral editor could be a bit more responsive, but it's no biggie. A wealth of fascinating timbres to be had here!

started with a simple sine pad and ended up in something weird, which was unusable
its really a soft synth the world needs. and the more i worked with it - the more i know why albino was discontinued, because its indeed a really replace for albino.
what i found weird was when i modulated the Pitch with a mod env - the value is shown in semitones, but i had to type in for 12 semi tones .25 for example.
i tried like 10 times before i got it that its calculating the value.
(not sure if its negative or positive.)

Ye, that balled me something hard as well when I was trying to add mod wheel vibrato to a lead
Really nice synth though, and will be a dubstep / complextro beast judging by the sounds I've got so far.
PS: Working through the manual, some bits are grammatically incorrect and read "difficult" because of that. I'll PM you a doc once I'm done with it Peter
[unless this already being looked at, just let me know]
Also, just for reference, what is the param for global pitch bend (I know pitch bend is not a midi CC)?
EDIT: FR, would it be possible to add a button to copy one layer to another, the whole layer (i.e. Amp 1 + Cut 1 [and all of their related settings] >copy>paste> Amp 2 + Cut 2)?

Absolutely. Also a good advice is to not to overdo it with the filter. Load for example a 48 dB Bandpass, and now imagine (or try) what happens when you make more steep filter, this can be done, it can be very very cool, but its gets more difficult to make not too drastic patches from it. So generally ... careful, not over-do itariston wrote:... Best to take it slow and not get caught up in trying to use every feature for every patch.

Your feedback is welcome, and it not needs to be complete, every bit helps!GeorgeZ wrote:PS: Working through the manual, some bits are grammatically incorrect and read "difficult" because of that. I'll PM you a doc once I'm done with it Peter[unless this already being looked at, just let me know]

Hey Peter,
Not a problem with the layer copy, it's a "nice to have", not the end of the world
With regards to the manual, I'm just adding spot fixes, nothing major.
Re pitch, one of the tests I always do in betas is automating pitch bend without the pitch wheel, so via the parameter list. The mod wheel has it's own midi CC, but pitch bend to the pitch wheel has it's own parameter (which is not midi CC linked), but I can't seem to find it in the parameter list (hope that's clearer... thought it was "Glide Bend", but that doesn't seem to be it).

Would be interested in that too and also how to submit (PM, email, etc.).toothnclaw wrote:What's the deadline?Peter from LinPlug wrote:EDIT: Ok, now the precise conditions:
Condition for a free license is 12 presets contained in the final product so based on my experiences with factory sounds and soundsets for other synths this would need around the double amount (around 25 presets) to be submitted.

The same damn thing happened to me with SynthSquad. Luckily, I found the settings in a file somewhere and could edit them there.tehlord wrote:I have a partially user induced issue here.
I set the GUI to XL mode, and now when I start the plugin I get the options startup screen, but the tick box on the bottom right isn't visible onscreen and I can't get back to the main page to swap it back to normal size. I can't move the plugin window to a position where it's visible![]()
I'm already running the highest resolution my computer supports so I can't fix it that way either.
I think that tick box needs to be moved where it's visible if somebody has the same problem as me.

My fix was simpler than that, the spectral logo takes you to the plugin as well.ariston wrote:The same damn thing happened to me with SynthSquad. Luckily, I found the settings in a file somewhere and could edit them there.tehlord wrote:I have a partially user induced issue here.

Did exactly the same
But how are you supposed to know that the spectral logo takes you to the synth?
I couldn't find it in the manual, but then I just skimmed through it.
To place the options close-button in the top area of the UI would eliminate this problem.

Hmm ... well, there is no Pitch Bend parameter, its just some MIDI data (like MIDI CC), usually its what is transmitted when you move the Pitch Wheel on you keyboard (not the computer one, but you know thatGeorgeZ wrote:Re pitch, one of the tests I always do in betas is automating pitch bend without the pitch wheel, so via the parameter list. Well, there is basically no sharp line as we not yet chose a exact release date, so for now lets say 7th November, but we might extend that a week or two.Ingonator wrote:What's the deadline?
There is no rule of thumb. Wait, there is one: if you are great than 12 is enough, thats the 100% rate that few of our sound designers hit. However, to be honest, sometimes we get presets submitted with a 0% rate, thats not to say you have no chance, it just means IT DEPENDS.Ingonator wrote:Condition for a free license is 12 presets contained in the final product so based on my experiences with factory sounds and soundsets for other synths this would need around the double amount (around 25 presets) to be submitted.
What do we expect from the presets:
- it should please us (wow, thats vague), so it needs to be great (...ehrm, again vague)
- it should preferably use a at least slightly uncommon filter shape and not just a 12db lowpass maybe
- it should make use of Modwheel and AT, some guys then use AT to increase some nearly inaudible modulation to some still nearly inaudible modulation, that wont work, its should _really_ do something
- it not needs to be at an exact level, but please not extremely loud or silent (though thats easy to fix)
- think of CPU, a spectral osc/filter in itself uses quite some CPU, if you run 4 layers with spread and a wonderful long Release you can break every CPU
- make use of effects, but not just drown everything in echos or reverb
- break any rule if you like, but have a good reason
Good luck!
