Okay, quick update about using ST3 in Tracktion 5, that's a bit more relevant / useful to this forum - I had a go at running ST3 in jbridge, to try and get the 64bit vst working in 32 bit T5 - need more time to play, but bad news is the jbridger app seems to scan ST3 successfully, and creates a bridged version in a new folder, but the T5 plugin scan reports the bridged version of ST3 failed to initialise properly, in a popup window, and doesn't add it to the plugin list

Tried various bodges, with no obvious progress. Ran jbridger as admin, t5 as admin, changed security permissions on the original and jbridged dlls, so every user and system account on the laptop has full access, checked UAC and DEP are off (win 7 laptop), tried removing the detected features in the text file in the jbridged vst folder one by one, and rescanned, checked t5 log for any clues (one line error message after every scan, saying the plugin is empty, I think, from memory) but no success.

Not tried the jbridged vst in another 32 bit host, but I own reaper, so will do.

Haven't really tried other IK plugs in jbridge, so not sure if it's a general problem with their copy protection, but will do. Other plugs do work in jbridge on this laptop.

One thing I didn't try, but will, is finding the registry key for the ST3 install, that I know contains my serial number, and challenge/response code telling the plug I'm licensed. I think there's a key there with the path to the vst, although I could be wrong. If so, might try changing that to the path to the jbridged vst, and see what happens.

I kind of don't need this to work, personally, but it's annoying me now, so if I work out how to get it going, I'll post how, if anyone's interested?

The registry key hack made no difference.

I ended up opening the jbridged version of the Sampletank 3 dll in notepad, and there's some clear text data in it that says things like this;

Software\JBridge Proxy64 JBridge Unable to locate proxy DLL .txt Failed to load proxy BridgeMain BridgeMain entry point not found

So I think the jbridge scan (which reported successful, and created a .dll and a .txt file) didn't actually work properly, for whatever reason ...

I'll poke at this a bit more, if I get some free time soon-ish. Not sure how realistic that is though

Okay, got it, here's how to run Sampletank 3 in jbridge properly. I was being thick.

Install jbridge as admin
run jbridge as admin
select "I'll be using a x86 (32bit) host"
choose "create bridging files inside a directory I'll specify (HIGHLY recomended"
Choose the install directory whever the Sampletank 3.dll file is, hit OK
Create a new folder called (eg) c:\bridgedvsts. Select that folder as the "destination directory for bridging files". Give all users all security rights to that folder, to include write access (right click the folder, go to properties, security tab to do this
Run t5 32 bit as admin
Scan your c:\bridgevsts folder
Open a new edit
Add Sampletank 3
Make noises
