Well, I am quite curiousSampleconstruct wrote:You and your endless questionings...Numanoid wrote:But can't MOTU then licence the Falcon software/code for MachFive 4 ?Sampleconstruct wrote:MOTU just licensed the UVI software/code, the same developers (Olivier/Remy) as always are now developing Falcon, the deal with MOTU is obviously history.
My thinking is that since the UVI Workstation continue getting updated, alongside Falcon, and both can run the same libs. Why shouldn't MachFive too be able to benefit from the Falcon technology, as long as MOTU put up the needed funds to licence it for MF 4 ?

Just write a letter to MOTU and ask them. I bet they'll invite you for a conversation and tell you all about it.Numanoid wrote:Well, I am quite curiousSampleconstruct wrote:You and your endless questionings...Numanoid wrote:But can't MOTU then licence the Falcon software/code for MachFive 4 ?Sampleconstruct wrote:MOTU just licensed the UVI software/code, the same developers (Olivier/Remy) as always are now developing Falcon, the deal with MOTU is obviously history.![]()

Well, if you can't answer what I am asking about, I might just have to go over your headSampleconstruct wrote:Just write a letter to MOTU and ask them. I bet they'll invite you for a conversation and tell you all about it.
And a free lunch can't be bad

Yes, far over my head indeed - if anyone here had real insider info about this topic, he or she would most probably be tied by an NDA not to talk about it in public, and if you asked a million more questions, they wouldn't be answered. So your only option is that lunch...Numanoid wrote:Well, if you can't answer what I am asking about, I might just have to go over your headSampleconstruct wrote:Just write a letter to MOTU and ask them. No need for a pointless reply then is there, as I was stating the obvious alreadySampleconstruct wrote:Yes, far over my head indeed
There are several users in this forum that seems to be hooked up with the big devs in one way or another, but when asking about specific things, nobody of them can come up with straight answers.

I'm one of those who was selling (Actually, just sold it).
It's a nice piece of kit. I had no complaints. The problem is me having too many plugins and not using half of them. Mach Five was not getting used mostly because nowadays I tend to reach for a Kontakt library before a rompler (of which I have four others)...
That's why I decided to have a late summer sale and try and clean up the plugin folder a bit.
Who am I kidding? I'll just use the money for different plugins...

But they don't mention the CPU hit, is it high?

Another question: Is the GUI resizable?
I like my UVI stuff, but I notice that the UVI libs in UVI workstation are getting quite small on hi-res screens now.

I have Mach Five 3 and I have bought Falcon.
I sold Falcon as it didn't really offer much new and I definitely prefer Mach Five's gui and workflow. Could not follow Falcon's easily.
Also, no one has mentioned the included sounds that come with Mach Five which are excellent ..many made by Acoustic Samples no less.
Gone back to MF3 and happy!
