not much :)

sm58-------> m-audio audio buddy ------->SBLIve :oops:

Marlin Sidewinder - strat copy that must be 20 years old.
Westone Thunder 1 - A similar age - my brother in law donated this , but he'd already ripped the frets out .
Taylor big baby - my pride and joy. :)

Stuff I sold...well that's another thread!

It would be a long list and inlcude a mesa boogie and vs-880ex (2700.00 new with cdr burner.)

Painful to sell many things off but I've been reducing/simplifying for the last 5 years. Luckily, I think Tracktion on a laptop is a far better solution than the Roland workstations, racks of semi-pro reverbs/fx, drum machines and more I've learned to live without!

I still have my Tascam porta-1 too! Bought it new in 1987!

I've cleared out the hardware too pretty much, just an LA Audio mpx1 input channel and a J-Station (not totally convinced by it, maybe that'll be next).

Need a little midi keyboard and a decent vocal mike, perhaps a small mixer too.

Only other 'hardware' is a tobias bass and a yamaha aes800 geetar.

Scott.... I find you gear list very interesting... I went to see your site and found lots of interesting music. This is just great!!! Is it possible to buy one of your record?

I also had lot of analogue gear a long time ago.... but know I have sold most of it. Today I am mostly using VST:s and acoustic instruments like you do, Scott.

This is my setup:
Midi instruments that drives the VST:s
1. Yamaha An1x (ribbon controller)
2. Roland GI10 guitar to midi converter ( I have some guitars with midimics on them)
3. Akai MPD10 usb midi drum pad (for drums)
4. Roland SH32 for mostly arps and drums

These midi controllers gos to a midi i/o switch KAWAI MAV-8 so I can change the setup with just a flick of a finger.

The switch is connected to my Terratec EWS88MT audio midicard.

Then there is the acoustic instruments:
1. Washburn electric guitar (midimic)
2. Washburn 12-string
2. Martin copy steelstring (midimic)
4. Camuraska nylonstring
5. Dise italian acordion
6. Austrian citre
7. Celtic dulcimer

I record these with a Audiotechnica AT802 dynamic, or two AKG C406 (with a separate preamp) or a TSM big frame condenser (or with the built in microphones) into the small and cheap 12 track mixer Phonic MM1705

I also use some zoom pedals for my guitars.

ooh, nearly forgot:

a Sci Pro-One

Can't say I use it much though, more a 'nice thing to have', currently in my parents loft for safe keeping during my recent move...

sounds great though, using it's filter on guitars, my old drum box etc. always yielded gorgeous punchy sounds.

There are a couple of things available...mostly from my experimental rock prog psychedelic project. Yopu can find some of that at www.blr-records.com under the name of Christus and the Cosmonaughts. There is an older CDR of some of the early Prayer Capsule stuff (instrumental electronic), and both projects have new records currently in the works.
There are rocketships outside of my window. Really: www.cosmo.org

How are the Tokais? I have heard quite a few good things about them, but the ones I have picked up in stores have felt quite cheap. Did you keep the original pickups?

BTW, apparently both Tokai and Gibson buy their wood from the same place, about two hours away from where I live. At least, that's what my luthier buddy claims.

I've heard that the 80's Tokai Love Rock guitar was in many ways either as good as or even superior to the same-generation Gibsons.

I'd go for one. ;) Nobody in my area stocks them, though, so I'm up a creek on that one.

I can't vouch for the newer Tokai's. Mine is an '84 Japanese model, and I would place it toe to toe with anything manufactured by Gibson. It sings. I haven't done any research as to whether the pickups are original, but I think they are.

I have minimal hardware, I have to admit. It goes like this:

Shure SM58 -> Behringer UltraVoice VX2000 -> Behringer UB1240fx Pro

Schecter Elite 5-string bass -> Behringer Bass V-Amp -> Behringer UB1240fx Pro

Ibanzez Artcore Thinline semi-hollow -> Behringer Guitar V-Amp -> Behringer UB1240fx Pro

Edirol PCR-80 -> motherboard MIDI

The 1240fx feeds into an M-Audio Delta 44, channels 1 and 2. The outputs of the Delta feed a Rolls rack mixer (which also has inputs from my DVD player and the motherboard audio), this in turn goes either to my Sennheiser HD280 phones or a cheap-arse Altec-Lansing 2.1 powered speaker system.

The computer is a DIY 2.53GHz P4 system, which has just enough power to run a few of my favorite VST/i before I have to bounce to audio (thankfully, this is trivial to do in Tracktion with rendering into a new track).

I know, a lot of "crappy" Behringer gear, but it has yet to fail me and nobody has complained about how awful the sounds are (now, my singing or songwriting skills, or lack thereof, are another matter lol).

I'm going to dump the Ibanez for an eight-string bass, I'm tired of playing guitar after 25 years (lol) and want to focus on my keyboard chops.
