Tracktion 2? Sure, sometime and I'm sure Jules will manage to please most of us.
Meanwhile, we all know there's more to this than software. Why not share some of our choices for mics, pre's, outboard boxes, guitars, keyboards etc? I'll go first:
Powerbook Wallstreet, Mackie 1202 vlz, RNC compressor, Macman, Fatar keyboard, Rode NT-1000, Philips condenser (vintage akg), Shure sm57, EV RE-15, Realistic PZM, Roland GP16, Rat, Boss compressor (2 knob), 90 Fender sea-green strat-plus, Dano DC-59 (copper reissue), Dearmond (Guild bluesbird), 70's Epiphone short-scale bass, 80's Yamaha country-jumbo, 60's? Barclay (plywood top Harmony OM), Silvertone archtop (modified to a tres guitar), assorted drum kits w/ sabian cymbals, 1864 upright grand piano, assorted children's musical toys and a handful of homemade instruments (percussion to styrocello).
All this is forced into a small corner of my painting studio - a very large room with lots of plaster, wood and 10 ft ceilings in my 1880 home.
So have at it. Who's using what and why.

...
80's Yamaha amp, Fostex Rm900 reference monitors, old tape machines for echo and distortion.
How cathartic.

Bugger all apart from PC with Delta66 omni studio, an oxygen8 and a les paul!
But I'm going up to my new bosses studio next week which has shiteloads of hardware, a pro-tools system, a cornicpia of really expensive guitars and some kind of amp called a VHD or something that's apparently going to kill me.

All of this stuff goes into an AMD XP1900+ or more often these days, a dual 2 Ghz Mac G5. Got Tracktion on both, along with most everything else.

Crikey, Scott... you sure you know how to use all that stuff?
My "studio" includes:
the dog's kennel
the dog's tub o food
the dog's water and food dishes
a brick wall and 8 windows (it's a converted porch)
and some music gear...
a lovely 30 old acoustic guitar (NMI martin copy)
a hagsgrom bass, on permanent loan from a friend
a dearmond/guild archtop electric guitar
a couple of marshall mics (1006 and 603s)
a studio projects VTB-1 preamp
a homebuilt pc (athlon xp1700)
m-audio BX5 monitors
I have some more stuff upstairs in the official music room (which I don't use cause it's lonely up there)... a wonky old casiotone keyboard with fake wood grain and sounds to match... a couple of bad amps, and too many stomp boxes...

Zoinks! I have bugger all compared to that--
-Computers: Athlon XP1700+ based computer, Toshiba Satellite laptop (measly 1.6 Celeron)
-Cheapest mixer with phantom power I could find (Behringer Euroracks UB802)
-Marshall MG-30DFX (The DFX are crap) amp
-Yamaha PSR-290 consumer-grade keyboard... no mod or pitch wheels, but at least there's MIDI keys!
-3 guitars -- Guild acoustic, Godin LG electrc, Yamaha Pacifica (the tele style, not the strat) electric
-1 bass guitar -- Fender American Standard Jazz. OK, OK... this one's my dad's, but it's on indefinite loan!
[edit: oh yeah, and a Shure PG-58 mic]
And in the basement, but I never use for recording--
Garnet 50W head (the tubes need replacing badly)
Roland 250W PA/Mixer
Analog Echo/Chorus machine (why can't I remember the brand name?)
Tascam Portastudio (woo-haw! Where I cut my teeth!)
Greg

Hardware synths: Roland JD800, Roland JD990, Kurzweil K2000S, Roland SC8850, and an Evolution MK149 controller
Software synths: Reason, Reaktor, Cameleon 5000, VSampler3, DR008, M42 Nebula (my favorite), and probably about 50 others (what can I say, I like to shop
)
Other hardware: Shure SM58, Rode NT1, Art OPL Tube MP pre (just lovely), Boss MX-10 line mixer, Phonic MM502 mixer, ESI nEar-05 monitors (fantastic monitors)
Computer: P4/2.4, 1G, 80G. Egosys Waveterminal 2496, Egosys Miditerminal 4140, Roland UA100 (for the extra midi ports), Wave Idea Bitstream Pro
"Real" instruments: Ibanez AEG10N thinline acoustic guitar. I might even learn to play it one day. Small shaker (I can play that one
).
You can see a picture of my mess from a link off my main music site - http://listen.to/gwydi - who else has pics of their studio online?
