Inanimate wrote:1) That soundfont (what is that btw?) is made for OSX and I´ve got OS 9..

Second of all, where do I find "the" ESX24 in logic?
Understans what complete beginner I am people :)

Do I when all of this is finished, select the sound via the synth or this soundfont program Im supposed to download?

/D
Oh...First of all...a soundfont is a file format developed by EMU to take advantage of their audio dsp chpis. This is now not the case and a plugin that can handle soundfonts (such as SFZ by RGC Audio)
can load and play any soundfonts you have...there are plenty on the internet.

Please remeber that soundfonts have nothing todo with the EXS24 and the instrument files it uses...It was just another option for playing sounds...

You are supposed to load EXS24 from the "track mixer" in logic. From the load menu in EXS24 you can select any instrument files that you have on your HD...EXS24 will automatically search and load the files needed by each instruments file...All of this should be covered in the manual so a good suggestion would be to read the manual and try things out...you will never find out how things work if you don´t experiment...Nothing "bad" will happen either...so read the manual, and try to see how things are supposed to work out...also, If you live near a music shop they will often help out whit any question that you may have...as long as they think that you´re gonna buy something

Hello, welcome to KVR!

Wow, you have a lot of basic questions that should be answered before you try to pick a particular piece of software. It's apparent there are some basic concepts with midi/DAW recording that you are not familiar with. Maybe it would be easier in a one-on-one type of scenario to get explanations. If you would like to PM me and you are U.S. based I will arrange to call you and spend some time on the phone explaining some things.

Good Luck,

This is just amazing! I´ve never been in a place where people greet beginners and give them such a warm welcome as here! (on the net of course ;))

Well, I live in Sweden so those long-distance calls would cost either one of us a big load of money.

I know how to get to the mixer, I press button "2" to get there and (laugh) there I´ve got some menues, like edit, view, file etc...
I read the manual but it wont tell me how exactly to load new VST´s.

The problem, as Sielsynth said, is that I dont understand the basics, so far I´ve just worked with those things I can master.

( you can hear a sample here..

I think Sielsynth is right when he says that I might get more of what you´re all saying if I PM him/someone to get more specific help during a longer session of time, rather than bugging 10 people with noobie questions hehe..

Now that I know that Im supposed to load it from the mixer-window, I just need to know what files I need to put it this "instrument" map in logic and from which menu I load what files..

/Daniel
