Very strange, I have a PCR-30, and it has always worked in Tracktion... Mac version though! Hmmm... make sure the switch on the back is set to USB, check that you've selected PCR-1, make sure PCR-1 is enabled on the kybd. are you on a PC? reload the drivers... try creating a new edit, and see if it works? rescan the plugins folder... I guess that's about it... I had my PCR go out the other day, and it was the USB hub losing power...

There's pretty much a sure fire way to sort this I would have thought, as it really sounds like some setting in Tracktion has changed, and you're not telling us what it is 
Basically delete your CurrentUserSettings.trksettings file (or rename it, so you have a backup you can go back to), start up Traction and set everything up from scratch.
If that doesn't work, uninstall tracktion, reboot, reinstall and reset up the settings. Start up a brand new edit and try to record on that. Even doing that will only take about 15 minutes, one of the greatest things about Tracktion, it's compact size.
If you can get data in to other hosts, the hardware is fine. You've changed something in your T setup, or something's got corrupted somehow.

Thanks - I had to go for a full reinstall and all is well in my world again. Mate, i'm delighted it's working for you again - I love the fact that the tracktion install is so small and quick. I've never had to reinstall it on my proper DAW, although i've installed new versions over the tops loads of time, but the tiny download has meant that i can quietly put the demo on a number of machines i've been looking after at work at various points to experiment with ideas. You couldn't save, but I didn't care 'cos I didn't have my collection of vsts and previously recorded things anyway. Love it as a sketchbook, and just remembered the things I liked and tried to recreate them.
Imagine doing that with Cubase - You're on your lunch hour at work, before you came to work you had a great idea for a melody/bass line etc for a song you'd already worked on, wouldn't it be nice to try it quickly, see if it hung together?
Tracktion lets me do that, anywhere there's an internet connection. Can't save it, but that's not what i'm trying to do. Trying to write a song in my lunch hour, not record it

also! tracktion has a habit of permently disableing divices that dont load on a persific boot
eg: once there was a problem where the usb keybord was not detected & tracktion disabled it
if you look in my sig there is a getting started in T2 video tutorail, it covers where you can disable & enable devices

I had a problem with midi one time, loaded a synth, hit the keys, no sound.
I went around in circles for awhile, and then checked or unchecked (cant remember which), 'Allow midi controller remapping'.....Bingo! back in business.
