At the top of every VST plugin editor there is a control bar that uses the MuLab GUI.
In that control bar -> Options -> Open/Save Program/Bank.
You can also drag-drop FXP/FXB files onto that control bar to open them.

it's not a quick workflow and very hard to find the right presets when you already created a lot of them.
modular presets can be complex and we waste lots of time creating them, it is really worth to have a nice preset system to respect those presets

Maybe there is a misunderstanding. I thought you asked for how to save a VST plugin preset. That's the answer i gave above.
If your question was about MUX then there also is the browser, see http://www.mutools.com/info/M8/docs/com ... owser.html
Using the browser you can much more quickly open-save MUX presets.

I meant in the Front Panel window. But maybe there isn't really a need for it???

I want to save mux presets for a vst plugin that was loaded into mux.

Ok then the VST aspect is irrelevant, as that MUX can contain none or multiple VSTs. It's about saving a MUX preset (file will have .Mux extension). Can be done via options button, context menu or drag-drop to browser. Opening MUX presets using the same mirrored ways, and also by dropping a .Mux file from system file browser (Explorer or Finder) onto a Mux editor.

okay I tried a bit more the preset system, but I still can't find the right workflow
I have a complex setup with few vsts - [synth] + [delay] + [reverb] and few more fx, and I want to save and change snapshots/presets for the vst synth and vst reverb on the flow by using mux's internal preset system.
I can do a workaround by creating a new mux from selection and then saving this grouped mux, but that's a workaround and it actually load plugins from start instead of saving/loading parameters. not a good flow

other than that I just love using MUX! can't stop using it

The best solution i can recommend is to save your vst snapshots as new MUX presets, but indeed reloading these MUX presets will reload the entire MUX patch thus unloading everything of the previous MUX patch then loading everything of the new MUX patch. That's how it works. There is no specific vst snapshot only sub-system.

I wonder why not
it seems that MUX already aware of all the vst's parameters once loaded, so why not making it possible to save presets from these?

As already said: You can save complete MUX patches and you can save individual VST plugins as FXP files. But it seems that's not what you want. You seem to want to be able to save a sub-section of a MUX patch as a kind of snapshot preset. That's not as simple and easy as it might seem. Besides the complexity, please also read viewtopic.php?f=79&t=357048

Not quite the same!mutools wrote: Sat Aug 28, 2021 9:50 pm There is a browser there too: Clicking the preset name pops up the preset browser.
