Controlling the XY Pads

U-he should release a 4-Joystick XY hardware controller.

In the meantime, I have the Erae Touch to make 4 big X/Y (+Z) pads...

We really should offer a 4 joystick controller... hang the expense!

2D control via any surface is like bending notes using a ribbon controller instead of a sprung bender. BTW the best pitch bender ever made (imho) is the one in the Nonlinear Labs C15.

Compared with high quality joysticks, touch pads are quite poor performance controllers.IMHO!

what do you recommend on the market today as the best controller for zebra et al?

Obviously I think a 4-joystick controller... but nobody actually makes them, as far as I can tell. I guess people think it would be prohibitively expensive. Personally, I'd pay €300 for a good one.

The joysticks would need to have the EMS Synthi / VCS3 feel: Very different from plastic, sprung gamer joysticks, longer and with much more resistance than the Studiologics or Korg Kronos ones.

i saw some promising as in CHEAP/FREE hacks using game controllers on youTube… apparently a PS3 controller can send pressure too… maybe because of the PS3 vibroshock feature?— in the meantime, until U-He or BitWig decide to release a proper full on signature MPE controller I've been making do dedicating 8 knobs to Hive and Zebra
