I will try the beta on this system.

Has the bug with the "Count In to Record" Click at BPMs higher than 140 been addressed already? I can't record my keyboard playing at BPMs higher than 140 since the count in click is so messed up I can't get the groove. There are extra clicks and the beat is all messed up. BPMs under 140 work fine.

EDIT: I just tried the beta and the count in click issue is still there although seems a bit better. Now the count in seems more time stable but still does 10 clicks here instead of 8 when set to 2 bar count-in at 4/4.

I don't know if the following issue is a bug or user error on my part but I sometimes find it's not possible to re-size a note from the right edge if the end of the note is on the end of a pattern. It's not even possible to move the note, it just resizes to the left.

I really welcome more color choices especially for the Clips as I find most of the 18 colors too extreme for my taste (purple, pink, etc) So user customizable colors would be one of my top feature requests.

I also find myself having to scroll and re-size a great deal in the Piano Roll but again that might be my fault. It would be nice to have the zoom remembered after closing the PR instead of having to scroll and zoom again each time it's opened. I've looked for zoom options but so far have not found them.

I've really come to love Tracktion Pro and am looking forward to seeing what version 13 brings. :tu:

Can you try it and let me know if EQ issues are resolved for you
8EQ now working correctly:
I tested the 8EQ and couldn't get it to crash or to produce nasty or unexpected noise nomore. It now works as it should work. :tu:

flawless update on Linux:
I also confirm that for Linux DEBIAN (oldstable "bullseye") the installation of the *.deb file flawlessly run the upgrade on my machine. All user settings from the former version 12.5.11 appear to be reused correctly in 12.5.14. :tu:

global sample rate and buffer size settings:
I am not sure if the global Sample Rate and Buffer Size have been reused or have been reset because I didn't write them down before the update and simply don't remember my old settings. Either I have had them on 44100 Hz, 512 samples, or they have been reset to these values. On my system they seem to be reasonable values, though. :tu:

CPU overload warning and audio engine reset:
When I overlad my CPU (> about 75% on the Wavform indicator in the top right corner of the screen) then I now see a clear text statement about it appearing in a pop up box in the top right corner of the screen, and also the yellow triangel warning sign starts to blink, even before the overload is so heavy that uncontrolled crackle and noise appears in the playback (> about 85% or 90% CPU load). Pressing the yellow triangle button now also has the wanted effect and indeed seems to reset the audio engine correctly and stops all sound and provoked crackle and noise immediately. :tu:

Thanks a lot! :)

I really do not understand why these fixes would not be applied to the final release of 12. People who paid for those features should have access to the fixes.

I probaly misunderstand, but the fixes are in 12.5.14 which is available for download for all 12 owners.

i am hoping that is true, but it is not clear from the posts. and the release notes do not specifically mention the ones referred to (other than the EQ bug).

but maybe Figbug can clarify?

All I can say is that It was in my account, and I downloaded it yesterday and have been using it. So check your account.

downloaded and tested. the Micro Drum Sampler bug is still there. i'm guessing the Modulator bug is also not fixed in this beta.

I am confused about why these fixes are not included if they are known and implemented already in Waveform 13.

furthermore: there seems to be a bug when you drag Presets (from the Factory Presets in the Browser - the ones shown as installed in AppData\Roaming\Tracktion) to a track. the name of the preset is not shown in the Preset name field when the plugin is opened. The only ones it works for in this category are the Micro Drum Sampler and the Drum Sampler (ironically).

all the presets from the Content Packs (shown in the Browser as Documents\Tracktion\Waveform\Contents) work correctly for their respective devices.

lastly, why aren't Presets for Collective and Subtractive shown in the Browser? Are they supposed to be? Or is there just something wrong with my install?

Post

There's an issue with Subtractive in the beta, loading a fresh instance then selecting 'spinal saw' for the first oscillator, gives beach ball of death on Mac ARM M2. This also happens when changing oscillator types after using other aspects of the plugin.

Looking forward to WF13, bugs or not!

I wonder who is waiting so much for version 13? And which version? Are you waiting for a new freebie or are you willing to pay for advanced features. but without bugs? or do you not care about bugs, the main thing is for free?
Until the commercial version of Tracktion Waveform is stable and an example for others (this is at best), you should not expect ANYTHING from the free version. Don't be fooled.
The old farts who test Waveform don’t want to know anything about the new capabilities provided. They are satisfied with what they have, and that the work process does not differ from the crap that other stations provide.
Some idiot says: now it’s fashionable to make a division into themes! Did you make a profit? You weren't even mentioned that you did it first. Fl - did it? ))
Video. We will make it more crowded for Tik Tok. Done? Who the hell needs you there...
Sufferers on Instagram who say that the sandbox is the best. Yes, perhaps it was the best but in version 11.
But do you want someone to finance fixing bugs and introducing new features for you? It didn’t work that way with version 12, but you all believe in fairy tales and version number 13))
Are you 2.5 people? Why are you suffering? You can't agree with other invited developers? What is it that is pulling you down into the abyss?

Whoa, the bugs aren't that bad... I enjoy using WF and find very few bugs. The devs help via email, and even release fixes. No daw has reached perfection... unless there is, then please share!

compared to what?
and is it necessary to compare errors? Have you ever wondered? isn't it better to focus on YOUR product?
and there's no need to provoke me, I'm talking about Tracktion Waveform here.

or maybe you are a tester and you were offended by my statement? provide a test plan, this is not some kind of secret information. this is a performance test.

Apologies, I saw a dev posting in this thread and thought I’d share a bug I found. You’ve definitely given me alot to think about nowgad. Thanks.

What is your point? It's obvious English is not your first language so something could be lost in translation. To be honest you're coming across as a spoiled child who is throwing a temper tantrum because you're not getting what you want or are mad because others are getting what they want.

I'm looking forward to Waveform Pro 13. Will I pay for the upgrade from Pro 12? Depends on what it brings.

Do I want to pay to fix the one bug that affects me? No, not really but unless they fix the count in to record bug I'll have to move on from Waveform so hopefully that will be addressed before version 13.

No DAW is perfect so if you seek perfection all you'll find is disappointment.

I do have some concerns about the long term future of WF but if you're that dissatisfied now maybe it's time for you to move on.....

Oh and it was the theming that drew me to version 12 since I found earlier versions to be visually unappealing. Other than the count in bug all I really need from version 13 is user customizable clip colors and more theme options would be nice as well.

Other than those issues WF does what I want and does it well so so I'll ride the bus until the wheels fall off.

I'm waiting for a response to my bug report on the count in click bug so we'll how that goes.....
