If you want to switch screen sets in Logic with our new stuff in the foreground, you need to switch Key Control off in our plug-ins. Or just click outside our plug-in window to remove key focus.muki wrote: Thu Jul 25, 2024 1:36 am do i see it correctly in the video, that you are using the central-upper-number-row ?
instead of the numpad
wouldn't that be problematic in logic, where the upper-row is directly controlling the screensets...?
just curious...

yes! - cool
just tried it in the new beta and it works well and as expected (in logic)
1 question - 1 suggestion:
question:
as i can see,
i can de/increase values in 10er steps by opt-+ opt--
where +/- are pressed on the numpad
it does not work with the +/- of the main keybed
ergometrically (sp?) opt-+ with + on the numpad is not doable with one hand for me
too far distance for my small hands
whereas the central main keybed oppt-+ keycombo would work perfectly
what's the reason the main keybed +/- are excluded ?
suggestion:
arturia (pigments and probably most others) allow to forward/previous select presets from within the initial main parameter window with the arrow up/down keys
i do like this behaviour very much
would be great to have something similar within u-he plugins
thx

Whatever happens on shift/command with +/- on the main keyboard depends on the actual keyboard layout. On my German Mac keyboard, shift + is * and shift - is _, with other layouts it's different. At this point of time we don't see how we could set this up without substantial work, either by offering customisation or by maintaining a database of keyboard layouts.
We're rather proud of our preset browser. I need time to adjust to the thought of adding means to ignore it.

OOPS! instant crash with DIVA (KeyCTRL not activated):
in logic 10.5.1 under mojave
launch logic
insert DIVA
open DIVA panel
select presets
hit the down arrow key
instant byebye crash
crash report saved
same with hostingAU
this only happens with Diva
not with ACE, Hive or Bazille

Does Logic not allow you to send keyboard entries to plugins? Are the key commands always global?muki wrote: Thu Jul 25, 2024 1:36 am do i see it correctly in the video, that you are using the central-upper-number-row ?

p.s.:
the crash also happens in Diva with KeyCTRL on
btw,
i just noticed that all of them remember the on/off state of KeyCTRL between various launches
does this make sense - i.e.: is this really useful ?

it does allow to send key commands to pluginsFunkybot's Evil Twin wrote: Thu Jul 25, 2024 3:55 pm Does Logic not allow you to send keyboard entries to plugins?
but
a)
logic has tons of keyboard shortcuts on its own
which wants to be >sort of< "global" (or "more important)
therefore
b)
the plugin window must be active, i.e.: the foreground active window, i.e.: in focus
(has a visible thin white line around the window)
but afaik/iirc not all shortcuts are caught

So you couldn't name a preset "Blade Runner 2049" if you wanted to without copying and pasting text from a notes document or something because Logic would eat the numbers? That's a bummer and silly shortcoming.muki wrote: Thu Jul 25, 2024 4:09 pmit does allow to send key commands to pluginsFunkybot's Evil Twin wrote: Thu Jul 25, 2024 3:55 pm Does Logic not allow you to send keyboard entries to plugins?

I keep thinking I should pick up a Logic license just to have it on my Macbook, but nah...

Would love to see keyboard control of assigning favorites/junk when browsing presets. Maybe assigning a number key to each of the favorites, etc.

The preset browser is indeed one of the things I love most about the u-he synths. You did a really great job with that.Urs wrote: Thu Jul 25, 2024 1:48 pm We're rather proud of our preset browser. I need time to adjust to the thought of adding means to ignore it.
Having some MIDI buttons to navigate without opening up is not taking anything away from it. Once you want to get an overview, organize, browse or search for presets, you'll definitely want to go there.

Weird. So far, we cannot reproduce this over here. Tried it on Mojave 10.14.6 using Hosting-AU, Reaper and Logic 10.5.1.
How exactly are you selecting presets? Tried it on the preset browser page and also on the main Diva synth page using the preset list dropdown from the main data display. In both cases, I can use the keyboard cursor keys to navigate presets, with and without key control active. No crash.
Can you try uninstalling and then reinstalling Diva?
Uninstall instructions can be found here: https://u-he.com/support/faq.html#compa ... :uninstall
If this doesn't help, it'd be best to contact our support, so we can dig a little deeper.

that´s weird indeed…
(sorry for being a little unpreciese)
so the sequence would be:
insert diva
click diva to open the gui
click the „preset“ tab (in the diva gui) to open the preset panel
hit arrow down key
i‘ll contact support for the crashreports
maybe they‘ll be helpful
