Not audio, but I installed MidiYoke and captured the entire Midi output just fine. Should solve your problem!

BTW: I'm using WinXP and have a M-Audio Delta 24/96 card... if you have problems with MidiYoke, I'm sure this forum should be able to help you.

If so how?

thanks,

the way I do it is perhaps a tad inelegant (as is my explanation below), but it does work. N.B. This MAY be specific to my soundcard( Audiophile 24/96), which allows me to record directly from the stereo analog input, or via its internal mixer. I actually use both in turn in order to do this.

I'm pasting from another post I made in the jamstix forum here:

===snip===

The three things I've been working towards in Tracktion 2.0 are as follows:

1) Laying down an ultra-quick combined jamstix-and-instrument track

2) recording a single stereo jamstix audio track, in isolation, as a simple foundation to compose and record the other instrumental parts on top.

3) being able to simultaneously record jamstix as 3 or 4 separate tracks for individual fine tuning, using the rack function as discussed earlier

(1) is easy - I put the audiom8 and jamstix filters on the same track I'm using to record the audio, making sure that the input is from my soundcard's internal mixer rather than directly from the analog inputs. A small degree of tinkering with the end-to-end settings and the "mute audio output" switch in audiom8 is usually necessary to prevent a wierd feedback echo happening.

I've more or less found out how to do (2) - I record a bass/guitar part with the live jam running, but the jamstix filter in a different track so it plays sound but isn't recorded. This is recording directly from the soundcard's inputs and not the internal mixer.
When the audio track is down, I then switch to internal mixer, mute the output in audiom8 so it still drives the live jam but doesn't play the instrument sound along with the drums. I then record onto the track with the jamstix filter which gives me another stereo track just with drums.

With (3), I can manage to set up a rack filter and have got outputs routing successfully to 3 or 4 separate tracks, though this does increase cpu usage dramatically. What I can't figure out from here is how to record them (my soundcard only has one analog stereo input). I guess I must just have to use the same technique as with (2) above, but with 4 separate passes recording one stereo track each time till they're all done.

I've probably explained all this really badly, but if anyone does understand it, could they suggest a way of doing (2) and (3) more simply, ideally in a single pass?

This should at least get you to the stage where you can lay down a basic jamstix track in audio to build the rest of your project on.

Rich,

Prior to reading your post I had been running the output of Jamstix to (usually) four different tracks and rendering that as part of a stereo mixdown with no problem. I just tried rendering only those four drum tracks as separate wav files and that also worked without a hitch.

I think the one thing you may be missing is that you need to let your arrangement play through fully one time before you render it, otherwise Jamstix has nothing in it. Once you do that, all of the dark pink blocks in the Arranger tab turn to light pink and you can render all of the Jamstix-based tracks. Hopefully this helps you out.

Edit: Okay, now I see that the original post is from April -- never mind. :)
