These are then passed up to the relevant people at Mackie. You can be sure therefore that reports *are* being heard, both by us, and by Mackie.

We aren't doing this for any reason that because we figure it will be helpful to all concerned, so please don't expect us to get into long and detailed conversations about what we have listed, or to make the list public.
valley - that is excellent, and, imo, typical of the positive support atmosphere that mostly typifies this forum, but: anyone happening across this official support forum will not know it (unless they wade in to this thread), and there is nothing from Mackie that might suggest to them that there is any kind of organised approach, or official mechanism for feeding back issues (real or perceived).

I appreciate that Beno is a man alone on the Mackie front, but I think that itself (as well as the good original suggestion) is a valid point that Mackie might consider. I can't help thinking that now more than ever people are holding T up in comparison to their more familiar products and Mackie might be in danger of dropping the ball.

There have been some 'robust' responses to some of the gripes. Regardless of how appropriate the gripes are imho that's not the way the vendor/customer dynamic works. Currently the community beta testers are facing down the brunt of the gripes from the customer base and I can totally undestand the frustration that might cause. IMO Mackie appear to be expecting the impossible from you guys and putting you in a very difficult position. Again imo, Mackie need to grip this and resource this marketing/support channel properly. That is no no way a slight on either Beno or the Beta Testers, rather a vote that their huge collective efforts be supported so as to be most effective.

I doubt there will be any such things at least until the product is officially released.

To be fair - there is no official voice on this forum right now, so people calling each other whiner or fanboy is just typical Internet dialogue, and representative of nothing more.

We are under no obligation to be here though, so if we get tired of being called fanboys we have two clear choices. ;)

Mackie can't really do a great deal on this forum though as it is primarily the RMS forum. I don;t know what the actual Mackie forum looks like, as I haven't been watching it that closely.
Someone shot the food. Remember: don't shoot food!

TBH, if there is a perfectly decent thread titled "why I love Tracktion 2" there is little need to start another thread called "Why I also love Tracktion 2."

Crumbs  . And there I was thinking you were being rude to me :-o

A fair point. Although I too love Tracktion 2, so I might start a thread just to annoy you :P :hihi:

You are no doubt right - my point is simply that this is a poor judgement on Mackie's part in terms of potential-customer perception.

I think that's a bit like trying to play both sides - in response to someones point that issues weren't being responded to by Mackie it was offered that the Beta Testers were effectively fulfilling this for Mackie (through good will alone it seems).

My point exactly. You're doing a great job and have been left dealing with Mackie's issues.

Eh ? Beno is hardly Scotch Mist
The Mackie Forum - aka the platinumears support forum ;-) I don't see any of the Mackie mods post much and I'm not aware of any Bug Report collation or other 'Announcement' type activity on there. IMHO it is very much a peer-peer support network.

As I read this back I'm starting to sound like a griper :help: but all I mean to say is:

Mackie - getting this rollout wrong and not doing the right things to allay any (even false) fears potential users may have.

KVR community 'elders' - doing an amazing and appreciated job papering over the cracks, but (imvho) need to be careful of ticking off those who might see them as pseudo-official spokespersons.

T2 - schweet

I'm going to leave it there - I hope I haven't tipped anyone over the edge - I've had nothing but help here and long may it continue.

I think you're spot on.

valley wrote: You asked in another thread what constituted moaning when people were listing bug reports. Well, your post above, and in about 15 other places, passes as a good example. Once is a bug report. Twice is being a little pushy to make sure people got it the first time. Three times, you are labouring the point. More than that, you're moaning.

It is not helpful for the beta-testers or Mackie to find genuine bug reports amongst hundreds of posts by a hdnful of people repeatedly making the same damn point over and over and over.

I can't see that those uses who arte looking for specific answers are greatly helped by that either.

I propose a new tactic: make your report, wait for someone to corroborate it. Bump the thread if no-one has responded in a few days, then shut up about it, because the point has now been made.

:!:
Nice.

Are we allowed to praise T2 more than once, or is that equally annoying?
:hihi: Smartass!
