Lee its strange waves works for you as it doesn't seem to be working for anyone else including me. It just crashes on launch. What version Waves are you using?

I presume it will be the newest version seem he's spent all that money on wave plugins.Beno wrote:Lee its strange waves works for you as it doesn't seem to be working for anyone else including me. It just crashes on launch. What version Waves are you using?

Thousands of pounds for waves plugins running on one of the cheapest hosts available , i smell something fishy here.

He already mentioned that he's using Cubase but he prefers Tracktion. Doesn't look like the typical warez user if that's what you mean CaneCANE CREEK wrote:I presume it will be the newest version seem he's spent all that money on wave plugins.Beno wrote:Lee its strange waves works for you as it doesn't seem to be working for anyone else including me. Im always abit dubious about these threads because if i had this problem i'd be kicking down the doors of waves support if i had parted with that much money.

I know I had the demo running some month back.... but then again that could've been V1 of T and an older version of W

Well I think it must be an older version because the new one is definitely working here on any machines we've tried.

im using waves version 4. not a warez user... and waves.com sends me back to you. whats up with the paranoia man? i am merely an interested party trying out a new software (tracktion), and am merely trying to find an alternative to the complicated cubase world.
and since i updated to T2 tonite, i can't get my waves plugs to work. and im not buying version 5 just to see how everything works with T2. lol.
beno: i was using waves ver 4 with waveshell 4.0.1. i believe i had it inside the tracktion plugins folder. i took it out when i upgraded and put it on my desktop and then put it back in what sesms to be the same folder as before, or at least the equivalent.
what can we do here?
if you fellas need my reciept for my purchase of these plugs, ill gladly post a scan of it. or ill send some proof of somekind. what else can a guy do?
paranoia will destroy ya. it destroyed the cubase forums. the version that i have works just fine. i don't need to go get version 5 just for a few little upgrades and small improvements... i should have just stuck with tracktion version 1. it worked nicely for my audio studio. since i don't do midi, it was kinda nice to use every now and again.
i decided tonite, after completing a deadlined project that i would try T2... im not feeling so well about T2 now. i don't mean that in a bad way. i just can't work with something that doesn't havemy waves plugs inside it. lol. simply.
perhaps im screwing something up in the placement of my waveshell? perhaps theres a bug? i don't see why in the world that version 4 wouldn't work with T2. it's not old at all. goodness.
either i can get these working, or i call up and ask for a refund back on the card for the online upgrade. can you fellas help me out? its that simple. either i can use it or i can't. and i can't without waves.

lharless,
Have you tried the free FFX-4 DX wrapper? I imagine you could insert it as a filter in Tracktion and then load the DX version of the appropriate Waves plug-in inside of it. I've used it to load a few old DX-only plug-ins and it works fine for me.

I remember that 4 had some serious problems when dealing with VST. When I upgraded to 5, all my problems seem to disappear.
Make sure you don't have the shell buried down in too many folders. I have no idea about tracktion, but it was a glitch in Sonar for a while.
FFX-4 DX should sort you out if you can't get the vst to work.

Lee, you are on Mac right? If so, as I've said, there is a known issue with Waves on Mac. It will be fixed for the next version which we are beta testing now.

I seem to have both the 5.0 and 5.1 shells in a folder - a subfolder of Steinberg\VstPlugins as it happens.JDHD wrote:Anyone get this combination working yet?
If so what Waves Shell Version and what folder is it in? etc etc
One thing I've noticed is that Tracktion has to be set to scan all plugins on startup, otherwise none of the Waves plugins are available.
