I don't use T but probably would show up for the company and beer if it's on a Saturday. Also I wouldn't mind seeing T in action as I've installed the demo previously but just didn't connect with it. Maybe I'll learn something.

I have at least three good friends who switched and could contribute something to the proceedings. Two of them live in Louisville and would drive down for the event. All three use laptops - ibooks and a thinkpad.
I've also recommended Tracktion to a number of students over the last couple of years. They would be interested in the results even if they didn't attend. I hope someone can follow up with a page.

If your offer is still good, then it looks like you're hosting. Can you give us a date and time? I'm thinking we need a couple of weeks notice for everyone to work out how to attend.
How many people could you comfortably accomodate? Are you thinking less than a dozen? Should we put together a list of who's attending?
Also, please let us know if you need a hand setting things up. I may be able to help. For instance, should we bring extra 6-ways, patch cables, chairs/stools etc? Do you have a wireless router? I have a friend that could help with that if he's in town.

It would have to be at least a couple weeks. Plenty busy here, but rather flexible with notice. We should take a poll as to good days. Then another as to good time of day, or whole day.

I'm at least 3 Saturdays out before I could do it, like Sept 9th? My machine has USB2 and firewire, running W2k. Any networking hardware anyone feels is necessary I would suggest bringing. I tried to set up wireless a while ago between the house and the studio, but there's some insurmountable RF interference on the house end, so I gave up and returned everything.
A dozen sounds like a reasonable number. The control room is small, but if we're going wireless, we can set up in the main room. A few extra folding chairs or stools wouldn't hurt. I would urge everyone to make sure their machines are germ free before connecting.
Rock, since this is your brainchild, do you want to sketch an outline of topics, ie: editing, mixing, etc......right now I'm using T2 strictly as an editing and rendering platform, so I'm interested to see some more advanced uses. Anyone have suggestions on timeslots/duration?

Does anyone else have any router/wireless suggestions? My wife will object to my grabbing ours and leaving all our machines offline but it's at least a possibility. The good thing about wireless is it's easy and cross platform. Sorry to say, my mini doesn't have an airport card so I'll still need an ethernet port to connect. I have a friend in networking who might be able to help.
Wireless or not, that doesn't solve our monitoring issue. We could just use headphones for individual mixing and share one at a time. The advantage being that more than one person could be working at once. I suppose it all depends on how many people commit to coming.

. Lunch or early afternoon also leaves the evening open for other activities OR you could extend it if things are going well.
