In this case an analogy I see is: while you're out to diner, you are being paid a visit by a robot, who goes through your stuff, decides what items lawfully belong to you and takes away those, who it decides you should not have. You are being tested, accused, tried and judged... by a robot... not even knowing about it... not to mention being able to defend yourself.

Well, my example wasn't perfect. Yours isn't either, I guess, so let's say the robot searches you (completely, including underwear) for stolen food when you leave the restaurant. I agree that this wouldn't be very much to my taste, even if there was a small-printed sign about it at the entrance ...

Except the item belongs to the robot in the first place. You are only licensed and allowed by the robot to use the item.

Bastiaan already posted how the installer works which is how i guessed it would work.

It's not like this was not already discussed multiple times.

For me this thread seems to be "lost" which is a shame as it's about a freeware synth. There seem to be a lot of speculations and no real proof of really existing problems related to the installer.

While Beta testing Rayblster and Nemesis i had do de-install and re-install the plugins many times and no problems found based on the installers. Same about the other products.

I already have bad feelings about the time when the upcoming Tone2 Nemesis FM synth will be released.

Tone2 have great products and a very simple copy protection (key file) but people seem to prefer to discuss about BS when talking about them.

Seen the same about Saurus and Rayblaster in the past and some time later poeple discovered that those are quite cool (which they are).

Seems like the only people that would be enraged by such actions are the ones that use or want to use illegal Tone2 software. And since all they are doing is telling us who they are in their attacks on what is now a well known policy by these threads (above and beyond the print in EULA). Why argue with them? Instead we should thank them for identifying themselves as the very people Tone2 wishes to protect themself from. The deception revealed, is only theirs, not Tone2.

99,9% of all stuff gathered by the scanners is dead boring, like discussion about what most people are having for dinner, or to remember to buy tooth paste.

But in my opinion people got the right to keep that to themselves anyhow
