Diva, of course

At least the latter two are more innovative than XILS' vocoder synth in my opinion.
If you exclude all the very advanced modelling technology involved in emulating paraphonic instruments and analog choir, not counting the Vocoder section, maybe.

But if you include this, and want to retrieve the real sound on instruments used by e.g Vangelis on Charriots of Fire soundtrack, and so many other famous musicians, then Xils V+ might as well be seen as a very innovative musical instrument.

Now, to each his own .......

This thread is for synths released in 2013. Synths such as Xils V+, Monark, Tal-Bassline-101, Halion 5 etc. DIVA is a late 2011 synth.

1.3 was less than a few days ago and it almost adds an entirely new synth :P

Only one of the ones you've mentioned I own is Monark which i wasn't fussed on. I just don't need another minimoog and I get pissed off with NI's attitude of forcing you to load Reaktor but not letting you get under the hood to do anything with it (which would be very beneficial on such a limited instrument as Monark) they should transparently wrap it in a vst and be done with it.

I guess Element isn't bad.

I looked and the others I would put on here were all mid/late 2012 so I guess in that case as it's the only one I own and it reaches the dizzy heights of "not bad" I'd say Element.

I'm sure Xils V is fantastic but i haven't used it yet.

exactly which Minimoog emu do you prefer to Monark? I'm not even sure the DSP based Creamware emulation can compete with it.

I'm sure it can't. I'm not saying I even prefer one to Monark, I just haven't had a need for "that sound" since buying Komplete 9.

I'm sure i'll change my mind when I need a monophonic moog-a-like and I give it a proper go.

In fact I'll give it a proper shout over the next week. I think to be honest when i tried it I thought, "ooh this would be nice with..." then found i couldn't edit it and got my grumpy head on and it coloured my view.

Recently I've been using Diva as a polyphonic moog-a-like and i used to use both Arturia miniV and GF's Minimonsta a lot.

I'll give it another shot.

couldn't resist the deal Arturia gave me for Analog Lab, but I took it off the dock after a couple of weeks or so. (I'll stick with the original MMV for the time being.) I think a new oscillator and filter on Diva is worth celebrating, especially being offered as a free update. Like a Xmas present. But KVR related threads led me to Berlin Modular and Urs' gracious continued allowance for free access to the Bazille alpha . Now that is one serious synth I now plan to spend a good chunk of time with the new year.

Best Softsynths are:
- Alchemy
- Absynth 4 or 5
- GForce ImpOSCar 2
- Rob Papen BLUE

U-he synths are not in my best of list.
I find they sound artificial, not authentic.

He asked for 'favorite' not 'best'

How many in your list were released this year?

dont you put Satin over them?
