What (except too resonant filters) is so bad about current Ace?chilly7 wrote:Excuse me if it was asked already but what about Ace 2?

Does something have to be bad to justify a second version of it?david.beholder wrote:What (except too resonant filters) is so bad about current Ace?chilly7 wrote:Excuse me if it was asked already but what about Ace 2?

Nothing is bad... but I'd still love to have a quantizer, some lag generators, 2 more multiples... and a couple additional filter models from what u-he has learned about filters since ACE first came out...david.beholder wrote:What (except too resonant filters) is so bad about current Ace?chilly7 wrote:Excuse me if it was asked already but what about Ace 2?
either ACE 2 or ACE XL

I like what i can do in FxPansion Dcam Synth Squad. That might not be possible with Ace or more.david.beholder wrote:What (except too resonant filters) is so bad about current Ace?chilly7 wrote:Excuse me if it was asked already but what about Ace 2?
Also it looks like the real modular synths have more functions. Also if i am not mistaken Ace is not on pair or better then Diva sound quality.

Sounds like you need to buy Bazille?!pdxindy wrote:Nothing is bad... but I'd still love to have a quantizer, some lag generators, 2 more multiples... and a couple additional filter models from what u-he has learned about filters since ACE first came out...david.beholder wrote:What (except too resonant filters) is so bad about current Ace?chilly7 wrote:Excuse me if it was asked already but what about Ace 2?

Dcam Synth Squad does not have audio signals in their modulation routing matrix. ACE can route any type of signal to anything. That is a fundamentally different approach.chilly7 wrote:I like what i can do in FxPansion Dcam Synth Squad. That might not be possible with Ace or more.

Buy a real modular synth then.chilly7 wrote:I like what i can do in FxPansion Dcam Synth Squad. That might not be possible with Ace or more.david.beholder wrote:What (except too resonant filters) is so bad about current Ace?chilly7 wrote:Excuse me if it was asked already but what about Ace 2?

An idiot on Set Theory:
"In some cases there is an object called red that contains everything that is red. In much the same way a pot is a plate."

Even if i had money the digital world offers huge advantage over real things in following aspects i find very important for me.whyterabbyt wrote:Buy a real modular synth then.chilly7 wrote:I like what i can do in FxPansion Dcam Synth Squad. 1) Patches can be stored.
2) More modulation possibilities.
3) Polyphony.
4) Signal flow is perfect unlike in real things signal degrades more longer path is and quality of path. Even if all signal path will be made from pure gold it will not be perfect.
5) More possibilities then on real thing.
6) Midi can be edited.
Ofcause the disadvantage is that sound is not as quality as real thing, yet.

You just answered this yourself:

I seid that the real things have more possibilities in context when i was speaking about Ace.Urs wrote:You just answered this yourself:

In second instance i was speaking in context of general digital world.

What "real thing" are you comparing ACE to then?chilly7 wrote:I seid that the real things have more possibilities in context when i was speaking about Ace.
I mean, of course there are modular synthesizers with more features than ACE. But there are also modular synthesizers with less features. ACE even has some features that are not available in any analogue modular synthesizer. Hence one should not generally say "real thing has more functionality" - simply because it's not generally true.

No really, my ticket goes towards step sequencer and\or drum machine like uber ltm-labs
