Ok Im sold. Take my money. Will get the update after workUrs wrote: Fri May 24, 2019 5:11 pm As we expect some Hive 1 nostalgia we're contemplating the addition of the original Hive 1 skins as an option. Granted, the new features would be inaccessible. But who needs them while you're satisfying desires brought on by memories which did not have these?
Hive 2.0 sanity check

I bought the sayatunes skins and they work still. One can't access all the new features, however, they run smooth still

Well, I just purchased the upgrade and installed it, which was fairly straight forward, provided one followed the link on page one of this thread. The registering page on Urs website was kinda weird as the serial code for Hive doesn't have 5 fields. Registering Hive 2.0 upgrade as per the info in the email is through the opening of it in the host DAW and with your name a serial code.
In any case, it'll be something new and cool to play with as I turn 42 tomorrow
.... I say new, but it's not entirely as I've been using Hive since the first beta of it back in 2014 I think it must have been, not long before propellerheads closed their forums.
It is the RC version rather than final, so I'll expect there to be some tweaks still to the UI. I can see some colour problems..for example. The buttons with small light grey text and glassy mid tone orange gradient, clashes and makes the text hard to read. It would be better if text had the max white value. Generally for me, the mixed combination of colours whilst I understand is meant to reference a colour coding way of interacting, doesn't work for me, it's just too much... reminds me of a night where I had mixed lager, cider, and multi coloured alcopop drinks when I was 19 and saw the result of that in the rest room of the night club
. So I'll be changing that in the config file as I've done with the other aspects of the GUI I think.
It'll be fun adapting the black and orange futuristic shell design to the new GUI of Hive 2.0 I've created for Hive 1.0 in the coming weeks.

But I intended to do drum'n'bass with Hive?
Sorry, couldn't resist, it was a long week...
Hive2 is glorious
I had a 3rd party skin set as default skin.Urs wrote: Fri May 24, 2019 5:11 pmwe're contemplating the addition of the original Hive 1 skins as an option.
Which confused me a lot, when updating to Hive2. I thought I had a rogue dll somewhere and was seeing Hive1. But all was well

Shouldn't the update be called Hive 2.0 ?
I just bought and installed the update, but when I open it in FL studio 20, the only thing FL is finding is Hive 1.2.1, and it looks just like what I've been using ( still the old skin with no new features ) but now even my Hive 1.0 is in demo mode and asking for a serial. It was already registered and working before this new installation.
Also, all my Hive 1.0 skins ( and presumably presets too ) are gone.

Sorry for the trivial post : I bought Hive 1.2 via PluginBoutique a few hour ago, I'll get Hive 2 SN early on next week IIRC ?
Anyway, I've just tested the RC with my students todayand we were all blown away by the new UI (looks stunningly good) and pristine tones. I've already turned them into u-he junkies (being a Diva and Bazille addict myself), and I bet some of them will bite the Hive bullet soon

We've hired another Ui designer for something completely different. Just wasn't ready in time, will be added when ready.
All Hive 1.x licenses bought since yesterday will be manually upgraded to Hive 2.x next week. Send email in case of doubt. Or, use Redeem Code on Tuesday and it'll turn into Hive 2.0 automatically.nilhartman wrote: Fri May 24, 2019 6:57 pm Sorry for the trivial post : I bought Hive 1.2 via PluginBoutique a few hour ago, I'll get Hive 2 SN early on next week IIRC ?
Doesn't sound right... The Hive 2.0 installer should by default overwrite your old Hive installation. UI Themes stay preserved, only the old 1.2.1 dll should be gone.2NDMOUSE wrote: Fri May 24, 2019 6:51 pm Shouldn't the update be called Hive 2.0 ?

I'm not the expert for these kinds of situations, but guys at support at u-he dot come will walk you through it.

I've uninstalled everything from my vst folder, from both common files directories, and deleted every reference to Hive.
I installed Hive 1.2.1.and registered it and all is fine.
When I click on the link that was sent to my email after buying the upgrade, it also takes me to a 1.2.1 file which is supposed to be the latest file. After I overwrite what is supposed to be the "latest update" over the top of Hive, Hive 1.0 is asking for a serial again, and there is no sign of Hive 2.0.
Why am I not getting a link that downloads Hive 2.0 ?? The file i'm directed to download doesn't appear to be 2.0, even though I've paid for it.

Since we're still in beta, the only Hive 2.0 download link is in this thread on page one at the top. All download links in emails will be swapped with the new ones next week upon release.2NDMOUSE wrote: Fri May 24, 2019 7:47 pm When I click on the link that was sent to my email after buying the upgrade, it also takes me to a 1.2.1 file which is supposed to be the latest file.
So, grab the installer from the first post, should work just fine.

And so, no multi cores option for Hive 2 ? Does it detect automatically multi cores and use them ?

If only this had been explained in the emails I received which incorrectly pointed me to old files, I wouldn't have wasted the last 1-2 hours chasing my own tail. Could someone make this clearer somehow ?

I'm asking about the multi core support since I added Hive2 to a on-going Bitwig project that already had many synths and audio tracks, and the sound engine did not like it. Had to shut down Bitwig and readjust the audio interface buffer size for a larger size.
