I have a 980x based system, and i can run about 4-8 voices in "great" or "devine" mode per instance/thread. (there is total 12 threads on the 980x!)
This i'm curious about. Have you tested it to the limit of what your computer is capable off ? Because there's 6 cores (unless i'm mistaken) and 6 hyperthreading cores (or whatever it's called). My guess is you can "only" run 6 times 4-8 voices but i don't really know. But i sure would like to find out!
Yes i have tested it.'
- And just did again for you :-)

Here is 12 instances of Diva, all playing 8 notes at "Devine" accuracy. If i turn the resonance up, i can not play all 8 notes.. Then only 4-6 notes per instance.'
I can almost run 24 instances/6 voices at "great" accuracy

EDIT:
And this is at 128samples buffer on 2x RME AES32e

:-o  :D 8)

Thanx for the info.

Once the "Best" option for offline rendering works the issue is kinda solved. But nice to have it in realtime, too. :hihi:

Will it be possible to load .tun files? That would be a dream!
The beta sounds just fantastic.

BTW jumper24, is your 980x overclocked or running at stock speed?

Its running at stock speed@3.33GHz

In the final, yes. (I need to squeeze the gui element in... somehow...)

Maybe I'm the only one here, but I'd be very happy if such a function will be added with a future update.
definitely +1!

anything to help with tight basslines :) but this brings up an interesting discussion..

URS, is this synth strictly going to be an emulation of sorts, or are you gonna get more experimental with it, using the "classics" as a base and and features that will take them to places the could have never possible gone before? as great as it sounds, im all for a totally hybrid set of features using this amazing analogue sound and utterly annihilate it

Awesome! Its a long time since ive been this excited about a new synth. :)

(in reply to he second to last post) :)

Well... we've got a dozen ideas for completely new filters that are possible with that delayless feedback stuff. Those might be great candidates for Zebra though... dunno...

I think Diva should stay as true to being a virtual analogue as possible.

I'm slowly preparing myself to give in to the request of resetable oscillators though (none of our analogues does that... but hey...)

got it, as much as id love to see more experimental features on this base, nothings gonna stop me from feeding diva in the craziest shit i can get my hands on (uhbik!!!)... fuckkk im excited :)

ow... I guess you meant resetable osc phase :P

Yeah, the osc reset is a specialist feature, I think I only used it a few times (in another VA). It really changes the sound drastically, usually for a more 'sterile' sound. But the resultant 'snap' or 'attack' is characteristic and does go well with those Goa-type basses.

What about a separate filter bank effect plugin? It would be awesome to be able to use all those great filters on external audio sources too :)

I have no idea yet. Let's take it one plug at a time, and after Diva we have to do some Zebra and Berlin Modular/ACE stuff... :)

I, too, would like see multiple triggering in mono mode. BTW that feature does belong on analog synths. For example: the ARP 3620 keyboard (keyboard for the ARP 2600) has a Trigger Mode that can be switched between Single and Multiple. In multiple mode the amp envelope of a held key is retriggered when other keys are played. Only the envelope is retriggered─the pitch of the lowest held key doesn't change and the subsequently played keys don't make a sound of their own.

I think VAZ synths have Multi-retrigger envelopes and the same with timewARP 2600. It's used in some Reaktor synths and I've been able to simulate it to some extent with duo mode and oscillator sync in Oddity and Tyrell.
