Yeah I've noticed this recently. I thought I did this in the background but may be holding up the UI in some cases.
I'm on a Mac... Catalina and in Bitwig 3.3 - Haven't tried in Logic

Yeah, the UI gets held up. I can still do stuff on other tracks in Bitwig, but Vital is frozen for about 10 seconds or so. Then it frees up and there is no problem.
interesting, does not happen here in logic (on big sur)...

Hangs on Ableton Live too trying to log in each time. Logic seems ok after first log in. I wish this didn't have to try to log in once it is authorized on your system.

I reported this at the Vital forum but can anyone else confirm this behavior ?

1. Load Vital to the Init Patch
2. Set an LFO X Grid to 16. (Or Y Grid)
3. Close the Vital Gui
4. Reopen the Vital GUI and the X Grid amount is set back to 8 even if the LFO has been used to modulate a parameter.

Confirmed on two systems using Cakewalk, Reaper, and FL Studio.

Win 10 version 20H2 19042.630. Everything 64 bit.

Lots of such problems actually.
- MPE enabled is visually turned off each time you close and re-open the GUI.
- Patch name is forgotten after reopening the project.
- View is reset to default each time, for instance if you were browsing presets, you're back to the "all" view.
- Can't remember all the others, but this kind of missing consistency is all over the place

I reported this too a week ago, but forgot to add a "bug" tag. Also Vital doesn't remember the last selected envelopes and LFOs. It returns to the first ones after the reopening the GUI.

That's actually the only way to get back to All presets if you were browsing a Folder so until there is a fix that's actually a "feature" so to speak. :?

Oh ok. I didn't see it in the search that comes up when making a bug report.

BenfordLaw wrote: Thu Dec 03, 2020 12:05 pm That sounds damned nice, but honestly many people already have enough synths and have better things to do than get another one to develop welfare patches for it.
If they were so engrossed in their other synths and had much better things to do, they wouldn't be on here complaining about a synth they are too busy and self-important to use :dog:
Some super wonky quoting going on there. I did not say what it says I said :D
Sorry I did myself a massive bamboozle and it just kept getting worse, I tidied it up best I could :help:

Sound Author wrote: Wed Dec 02, 2020 7:26 pm I've not yet seen a modulation system quite as capable as Vital's. Until now, Bazille has been one of the only plugins I could really go nuts with audio-rate modulation. The only thing you can't really do in Vital that you can do in Bazille is recursive modulation via feedback loops, but I won't rock the boat too much. I'm still happy as a clown modulating the living daylights out of Vital's wavetables.
Yeah... no feedback in Vital... but so much else it hardly matters. And Bazille is just Bazille
Am I missing something here?
Can't you just do this:
I meant in the audio path... like feeding the filter output back into itself and so on.
Ahh sorry, I misunderstood. Yeah, that's not possible and shall remain in Bazille territory :)

Also, sorry for offending ears with my awful noises that don't belong in actual music (whatever that is) :hihi:

This sound really great. Are you sharing the preset? If not, could you give me some hints on how to create a similar sound? I would really appreciate it :)
I'm keeping the preset to myself for now. I'll share it later. Which reminds me, I haven't actually saved it as a Vital preset yet.

I used the Text to Wavetable function and created the vocal sound (not words) that way. I forget what I typed in, but like Ahhh and Oooh, or something like that. Took a few tries to get the google translator to give a result I wanted. Tweaked to taste and played it with my Linnstrument so I used pitch slides to move from note to note. Glide would work for a regular keyboard but wouldn't be quite as organic with constant speed.
That IS a really awesome sound! I liked the other one you posted with it as well.
pdxindy wrote: Thu Dec 03, 2020 4:56 pm Make sure you set the Spectral Morph to Vocode... I also set Wave Morph to Formant to tweak the result subtly depending on the octave.

The TtWT function is really cool. You can get all sorts of useful results by playing with your text entry. For example, if you type vvvv it will say the letter 4 times... eeeeeee makes a lovely kind of tremelo 'e' sound. Quite realistic vocal results are possible.
Thanks for the tips. The TtWT coupled with some choral/choir sample(s) will be fun to experiment with. 8)

I don't make "actual music", (save for a few people who consider some of what I do as: "it's 'music' to me"), and would love to have that preset to play with. I looped it for minutes and minutes, and had accents/variations/accompaniments playing in my head. :hyper:
