That's the problem: I'm on 32 bit...
This might sound silly but how about trying Jbridge to host the plugin?

http://jstuff.wordpress.com/jbridge/

I've used it for 32bit to 32bit bridging. Sometimes it works better, and can allow more memory usage for projects.

I have the same problems here with Synthmaster CM. After reloading my project the patches sound completely different. Also, it crashes from time to time (Live 9).

I tried out Dune, but there somehow the sync of the LFOs and Arp is not working correctly... Is anybody else having sync issues with Dune?

Post

Have you tried if it's the same in other hosts/DAWs?

AboveThoughts - AlphaCM

Hey man I have worked out about 68 new presets that pale in quality to the 3 free banks I located on non-KVR sites, specifically the 3 banks you guys/girls should track down are ...

Matts_FA3_SE
DrTW July 2010
and especially Tim Conrardy Preset Collection called TC_FreeAlpha_1

Anyway, these presets evolved while working on my KVR OSC challenge. Again this bank is not as refined as the three banks mentioned above, but perhaps can be useful and fun to play. Props to ToneDEF for suggesting the upload.

AboveThoughts - Dominator CM

Hey - I have worked out about 69 new presets for Dominator CM.

Anyway, these presets evolved while working on my KVR OSC challenge [ ended up using AlphaCM for the challenge ;) but created over 2 hours of musac {abstract elevator sounds} and a bunch of songs this month using Dominator CM ] .

This bank is not as refined, organized, or logical as the factory bank but really, really abstract and wild so perhaps these can be useful and fun to play. Props to ToneDEF for suggesting the upload.

SynthMasterCM - not working properly. Aalto - now also not working properly (managed to produce a song which crashed Studio1, which is quite a feat) so I've thrown it all out again... Back to good old Renoise, and now Unknown64 CM is my favourite synth ever until next week. I'm spellbound by this little purple marvel, and finally figuring out what all those inscrutable little values mean. So here's my two questions for the gurus... a) does anyone know of a manual for it? b) if not, do you happen to know if its internal sequencer/lfo is always free-running, or if it can be made to start the same every time? I know the answer really: no, and no. But it's worth asking just in case.

Sorry to reply to my own message, but I've figured it all out now. I am now a master of the Unknown 64.

loft_electronics wrote:I thought this would be a good time to finally check out SynthMaster - and I thought it was really, really good. But last night a few of my presets had gone weird - a snare (that took me ages) had turned into a fizzy dink instead. I reloaded the song... still a fizzy dink. I take it that's not normal? This turned out to be quite useful though, as it gave me a moment to realise that I was quite pleased to give up the whole project and start again with Aalto synth, which I've also had on my list for a while - and it's suddenly my favourite synth ever. Until next week.
I also had some random changing patch issues with Synthmaster which was inconvenient and irritating -- and it did not display my presets properly. The sound however is great and after a small learning curve it was fun to program.

OK first time OSC here, excited to participate. I am just curious about some rules, I think I know the answers but I want to be sure:

-ANY freeware eq is ok, not just CM ones (such as REA eq?)
-Compression can be used (freeware of course)?
-Reverb can be used (free ware of course)?
-Dunecm has some wave forms that look like samples not single cycles. Are all the Dune presets I can find ok to use or do I have to look out for ones with these waveforms?

OK thanks for putting up with my noobieness!

Edit:

P.S. I am trying to figure out how to make a slap sound, like the click from a bass guitar slap, in Dunecm. Any pointers would be much appreciated. (although its not essential to the project).

Ok...

-ANY freeware eq is ok, not just CM ones (such as REA eq?) Yes, including Native plugins of your DAW (so Cubase StudioEQ is fine)
-Compression can be used (freeware of course)? Oh yea.... Oh yeaaaaaaa!
-Reverb can be used (free ware of course)? YES YES YES YES YES
-Dunecm has some wave forms that look like samples not single cycles. Are all the Dune presets I can find ok to use or do I have to look out for ones with these waveforms? Perfectly legit... this is called wavetable synthesis, check it out in the Dune manual / documentation if there is

OK thanks for putting up with my noobieness! Whaaa? It's smart of you... A good engineer will ask about the strength of the steel before building the bridge!

Welcome!

Set the filter envelope to zero attack, a bit of decay, no sustain, a tiny bit of release. Set the filter envelope knob at the filter section to full, lower the filter cutoff to very low... that's a good start.
