Yes today feels like Christmas in August - been waiting for today for about 7 months now. So far the beta has been running very smooth and the new features are as awesome as I had hoped. No crashes in the first hour.

Is it supposed to be possible to import a .bwproject as a clip? Doing this creates a new group track, with all the tracks and clips nested inside (nice!).

Unfortunately, the contents of the clips get jacked up. On the project I tested, most of the audio is missing and sometimes only half of a clip is there (i.e. a 64 bar loop ends up only having the first 32 bars populated with audio).

I went ahead and reported this to Bigwig, but I'm not even sure if this is a supported feature?

Yeah, it's pretty hidden now in the right-click-menu of devices - I didn't find it either and had to ask Dom... ;-)
But it's a full screen editor now so it's easier to get an overview...

Can somebody explain how create new collection & create new smart collection works? Couldn't find any info on it.

under the favorites area(left side of broswer) right click and create new collection. Once that collection is created you can right click it and set it as target collection. Then when you are browsing and you favorite something it gets added to the current target. Would be nice to just be able to drag stuff into that collection folder though. It is a tiny bit confusing but once you get the hang of it its fine. Also you can do custom collections under each tab(devices presets etc)

Great work but crash report

It does crash when I try to zoom in a audio file in the editor panel (m4a and wav), but it does not crash in the arranger.

Ubuntu 15.04 64bits
Alsa
i5 3200

umm..

i dont see anything about CPU performance..

but..

my CPU is getting double the track count of my benchmark test with hive in 1.2 then in 1.1.7... interesting cause they didnt say anything about cpu performance and I'm getting a HUGE boost.

i was getting about 35+ tracks before now I'm getting 60+... I'm wondering if anybody else has noticed this wonderful feat?

Can someone ckeck the following crashes?
Enabling key mapping followed by clicking on the playhead button crashes Bitwig on OSX Yosemite

Using the Akai MPK25 to switch devices in the chain with button S3 in control bank B crashes Bitwig.

I must say somehow crashed Bitwig 4 times in the first 15 minutes i was playing around by maybe i was just unlucky…

I'm on PC and the play button works in key mapping mode, but clicking the follow button crashes. I've been able to repro it consistently and sent the crash report. I think it has something to do with global key mappings clashing with project ones, or something.
