Good news, Urs! Looking forward to that. :)

Therefore I prefer the ensemble emulation in the Korg Legacy bundle, and also the Dimension D emulation by EMS. The combination of the latter with the Diva synth engine brings me in pure heaven (typically, I use the Dim D in stereo mode, setting 1, 40-50% dry/wet).
I take this back :!: Should have delved more into Diva's chorus I before making this statement.

You'll still get a "Wet" knob in the next beta 8)
While a wet knob will be much appreciated there, is there any chance of a simpler delay effect? I really only need/want a delay with knobs for 1) delay time, 2) feedback, 3) hi pass, 4) low pass, and 5) mix. The current delay with the independent left/right/center delay times and volumes is a bit more complicated than I care for. I've got plenty of other delay plugins, so it's not a huge deal, but a more simple delay effect in DIVA would suit my needs perfectly.

I find the reverb and delay to work so well for synth sounds .. any chance of an vst for just the fx section? I know it's been asked before .. but i cant remember the answer

Anyone know/have a good preset for Valhalla with a similar sound? Bronto..? :)

Hah.. Proof you can never please everyone.. ;) I like the delay as is, but I'm the opposite in that I'd also like to see a hi/lo pass on the chorus :) Why? Because the number one problem with chorus is it can "muddy up" the bass end sometimes. Conversely, occasionally you might want a little extra on the bass but not be noticeable otherwise.. so its nice to control the frequency range it's applied to sometimes :)

Yeah...I'm definitely the kind of person that prefers speed and simplicity over having too many options: at least when it comes to effects. I prefer as few controls as possible to help me get the sound I want quickly. With the current delay I just find myself having to think too much, when all I want is a simple delay effect. Now, I only ask that a simpler delay get added as a polite feature request, nothing more.

seems reasonable... there are a couple kinds of chorus, why not a couple delays

There's something to be said for the simpler delay being in keeping with the intended "audience." The Spectrosonics approach of simple on the surface, complex if needed beneath the surface, is quite brilliant as an approach, and, I think, has been very successful for them.

On the other hand, if a synth is special enough, people will be more likely to put in more time to learn the interface, and Diva is certainly special.

Is there a thread or place to go for KV User patches. I heard a rumor there were many great ones created for Diva! :-).

Is implementing multicore about improving Diva's polyphony on older multicore computers like mine, or is it just the way things are going anyway? Will a single core never be enough to comfortably run a plugin like Diva?

Well, you might have to ask Intel about that.

As it stands now, all manufacturers of processors and operating systems seem to suggest multicore processing as the current paradigm of optimisation.

What I'm trying to achieve with Diva is that people with older processors than i7 can play expensive patches in realtime, provided they have at least a dual or quad core system. This is meant for live performance/play. For production you'lls till need to freeze and hope for your DAW to make good choices for optimum multicore support.

I can't remember if there was any single core system with exceptional performance on the market in the last 3 years. Thus we will generally regard a dual core system as the minimum recommendation to run Diva.

Fwiw, if multicore is a less than ideal work around for backward compatibility for those of us with older machines, personally I'd rather put up with limitations now (and wait until I buy a new computer) than shut the door to modmatrices in the future (not so much for Diva - I know Diva's architecture is fixed - but for future plugins).

If it's a forward compatibility issue, and multicore voice sharing is unavoidable, obviously that's a different matter.

We will see...

The ModMatrix system is less than ideal in itself and needs to be reworked in future anyway.

We're currently debugging the multicore thing and we might get a considerable speed boost later today. If that's teh case then it's essential.

Of course it's an *option*. You don't need it to run Diva. But those with 4+ cores might find it vital to run Diva.

This is my favourite soft synth yet. I love it, can't wait to buy it Friday. I've been making patches for it for the last several days, including some robotic sci-fi fx, which it's great for. Now I'm making a little robot battle track, using Diva and some sounds I made with Absynth and a bunch of recordings around the house. Anyways, love flipping between the different modules and mixing and matching, and the effects are beautiful. It sounds so alive I get lost playing sounds while I'm making them. It just sounds awesome.

I'm in that group and I manage 4 voices for many patches at 'great' accuracy. As for the rest, I'll just use it as a monosynth for now.

But, yeah, I can see complaints where people are unable to load all of the factory patches.
