Very exciting that you're onboard with at least considering some of this! The thing about the Make Noise modules is they pack a ton of functionality into a necessarily limited GUI so things like Tempi, especially, make every panel element do double or triple duty in a way that only makes sense in hardware - in software you can add controls or panels or popouts. In Blocks it's less essential to pack functionality into each block because you can just spawn more blocks for more functionality, or add some primary level modules between blocks (I do this a lot), or modify the blocks. In Zebra of course the concepts have to be similarly tailored to the synth's paradigm.Urs wrote:I'm dreaming in the same colours.~Pd~ wrote:Dreaming in technicolor here.
I will be evaluating this stuff, but much of it depends on how usable it will be. If you look at Reaktor Blocks, I think NI had to find a lot of compromises, just look at the clones of Rene and Tempi - they're hard to "get" in the real world, so NI just stripped them down to an immediately usable level. I would love to add Gate & Quantize Heaven, but it might be hard to grasp in the context of Zebra, or anything without cables. That said, I will certainly try, and I am writing down these concepts as we speak.
If all goes well, there'll be so many surprising and fresh concepts in Zebra... I really can't wait
What if, when in modular/mono mode, every lane in Zebra's main grid had a triggering option where you could select one or more trigger input control sources (LFO, MSEG, etc), with a built in comparator? Or the triggering / comparator options could be built into each envelope, which might be more flexible...
