If not it will be good bye to to good buy. Anyway, sooner or later, it will be good bye :D

I could be interested in Morphox too, to round up my Lin Plug collection, but paying $50,00 for something we know will soon be buried for good seems a little too much. I have to think about it.

it is "buried" already but you can still use it

As mentioned earlier i did not fidn a full replacement for both Albino 3 and Spectral yet and as long as both work nicely in Windows 10 64-bit and my main hosts there is also no need for a replacement.
One major feature in Spectral that sets it apart from most other synths is the drawable filters where you could create your own filters from scratch. That in combination with the additive style oscilators makes Spectral quite versatile, not to forget that Spectral has lots of mod sources available.

The copy protection is a simple serial so this should not be any issue when Linplug finally stops support.

Albino had worked here since around 12 years now, starting with v2 and using multiple Windows versions like XP, Vista, 7, 8 and 10 and also several updates and/or major versions of my hosts.
Spectral is working nicely here since the public beta ended back in 2013 (and mostly also during the public beta).
At least in Windows I only see big problems coming if all hosts will stop supporting VST2 plugins which should not happen soon.

I admit i did not have much contact with Linplug support in the past as their plugins mostly just worked here.

At the current prices i might have a look at MorphoX again...

Hi,

anyone actually made payment working by giropay for the actual products ? I know it worked with the last discontinuied products (bought all that stuff then) but cant change currency to euro so I get an error message when I try to choose giropay "change currency for that payment method" but cant find any way to do so :(

IL Harmor offers a similar approach to filter design and of course is also additive

Is it me or MorphoX's knobs and sliders respond a bit slow to mouse dragging?

No problem for me... The mouse response is perfect on all the knobs and sliders.

Do you use the 64-bit edition or the 32-bit edition? I always use the 64-bit edition (no problem at all with the mouse response with it) and I have never checked on the 32-bit edition...

I always use Paypal. No problem to change the currency.

Never heard about Giropay.
Seen the name... that's Italian?

Sad to see them go. I saw their message in my inbox and thought that they did it with class, rather than just going away. For half a day, I had them confused with Rob Papen. Don't know why. I think both developers were cutting edge in those early days. Glad I was wrong though, as I have a few Papen plugins. Loved RMV, but sold it a while back, so I'm not really personally out any investments.

Surprised that they haven't sold their assets and code. Though I guess that still could happen.

Linplug will be missed.

What a shocking news! It's so sad to see Linplug go :(

But I believe that Peter have a deep thought about it and wish them all the very best with the journey.

All my deepest respect and honor to him and the company.

32-bit. It's also the only LinPlug product that behaves like that. :?

Yeah , it's a slight latency when it has to compute a new waveform.

i still think Spectral is so worth it! even if you are not sound designing the presets are nice and can be changed in a fly!

im still unsure if i should get MorphoX (i think avenger is enough there for me) and/or CrX4.

Spectral and CRX4 are the best of the bunch, MorphoX is IMO a bit naff to be honest

Spectral bought. with a few sound banks. thanks for the heads up on this. i never really looked at Linplug. I think the regular price scared me away at the time that I did look at them. Spectral is very nice - to me its in the Synthmaster class and kind of a Synthmaster expansion - provides a whole other set of features and sounds but retains a similar vibe as Synthmaster. If I get a couple years use out of it that will be fine.

I just recorded a spontaneous noodling (length 3:53 mins) using a layer of 2 instances of Spectral based on 2 of my own factory presets for Spectral that i had created and submitted during the public beta back in 2013:

IW - Spectral - Pad + Bells Layer Demo 01

The factory presets used are called "iw Glassy Ooh Vox" ("voices" category) and "iw Vector Bells 2" (in the "Bells" category).

The track was recorded "live" and no external effects and/or other plugins were used.
