Didn't mean for that to sound offensive. I apologize if it came off that way.kuniklo wrote:I'm glad you find my questions so amusing.spectrum wrote:[
Heheheh....KvR is awesome.
So you've already heard all 4000 sounds from the factory have you?
It's difficult not to get a little defensive when your hard work gets dismissed so quickly.
I'm really just saying the same thing that Per said, but he said it in a much better way.
I was responding to this comment:
My response is to the word "most patches". Of course you have heard less than 1% of them yet, so it's probably a little premature to make that conclusion.kuniklo wrote:Thanks for the sound demo Per. It confirms my suspicions that most of the factory patches aren't going to be much good for my style.
Generally speaking, there's a huge tendency here on KvR and other forums to instantly judge and pidgeon-hole a product as being this thing or that thing. I think there are a couple of thread and posts here that demonstrate that phenomenon.
Al I'm saying is this:
Please don't instantly write off the 15 years of sound development I put into Omnisphere....OK?
There's a huge amount of material there. There's massive ways to manipulate it. There are many, many applications in lots of different genres. I have a strong feeling that if you like any kind of electronic music, you will find it quite useful indeed.
Makes total sense.. And there will be much more info and many demos coming. So far I've heard exactly what everybody else has heard - the patches you've chosen to showcase in your videos and in the contest and the patches Per was kind enough to demo for us. So far all of them have been exactly the kinds of sounds that put me off your last batch of products. Maybe there are 3000 patches waiting for me in the rest of the library that I'd want to use, but without any more information all I can do is guess.
Of course. That's completely understandable. If you guys post the reference manual and a voice list for download when you get a chance it would help but at the moment I just don't feel like gambling $500 on buzz.
Our primary focus up to this point has to finish the instrument, which was a massive undertaking.
Now we are beginning the process of revealing what it is, how it sounds, how it works, what it's capable of.
I am always happy to hear honest feedback too. We are setting out to make something really special here and I like to get user feedback as much as possible,
Cheers,
