if that is not somehow new (or reconditioned) then it has been horrendously neglected in its lifetime,Urs wrote:More food for DIVA arrived today:
When have you last seen a Maxikorg/800dv/K3/Univox in such an immaculate condition?
just to end up as software food
i'm starting a dinosaur cross-grade shelter home for those poor neglected hardware synths (some sites even take pleasure in posting pictures of these poor defenceless soles left for dead in bins
if it was a kitten there would be uproar!

Seriously: The Korg 800dv aka Maxikorg/K3/Univox is one of the most beautiful sounding synths ever. I am so floored to have this after looking for such a long time... this will create another momentum in the design of Diva, along with HZ's Mini and Hacke's MS20.

Just a quick note .When my wife and i got married we were honeymooning in Byron Bay(Aus) We took a stroll in town one morning for coffee etc.Thought i would take a quick look in Byron Music for a moment .To my surprise hanging high above everything else in the shop on a rack was an MS 20.I gulped did it work? was it just for show ? as it was out of reach and separate from all the other stock in the store.Trying not to look eager i asked the sale assistant innocently ,whats that old thing? Are that thing he replied it only plays one note at a time and doesn't remember anything.Do you want to look at a Roland D-50 instead.Hmmm i replied how much?Well we are selling it for $120 dollars but are you sure you don't want to look at a Roland D-50.Well i replied let me have a think about i will come back later maybe. So after a nice coffee i returned to the store and bought my beloved ice cream bar(MS-20) for $120 and she has served me faithfully ever since.True story

I can imagine. I have the mini700 which started the whole 700/800 line, and even though it's a one osc synth, that one oscillator produces some gorgeous waveforms. The filter of course helps to create the signature sound. Would love the 800 though.Urs wrote:Seriously: The Korg 800dv aka Maxikorg/K3/Univox is one of the most beautiful sounding synths ever. okok... will try my best... I only need to fix a hell of a lot of broken links and instigate a new server layout first.
