Is there (or will there be) a way to switch GUIs without opening up the application content and overwriting data?

Maybe.

Like in Zebra nd MFM2 it's rather easy to create Themes support (just needs to split the default gui into 3 files)

I might just do that.

That would be very cool . . . after all . . . a Diva likes to wear different dresses, right?

HI everybody,

Newcomer here, since I left the hardware route a few days ago... with no regrets, partially due to u-he products!

Speaking of UI , I would like to ask Urs if he's planning to make available the 1024x768 sizefor Diva as well.

It's the case for Ace and Zebra (called "normal", comes by default), but it's not the case for Diva ("normal" is 1200x900, and "small" is smaller than 1024x768). I think the 1024x768 size is particularly well suited (at least for my taste).

And by the way, congratulations Urs on your synth line. Good products, great sounds, great UI and great support! The only downside is the price... of the new and more powerful Mac I now need! :)

Friendly,

Boris

I've prepared almost everything for a resize in steps of 10% from 70% to, say, 150% or even 200%. This will happen sooner or later, but it might not be in the actual 1.0 of Diva, rathe rin a 1.1, maybe in March 2012

(especially not if we do manage to release her before x-mas - I'm working pretty hard on this, and it really just depends on a few little things)

I've avoided quibbling about this myself: I was hoping for a better fit for the 1680x1050 of my MBP. Good news!

BTW, re: the purple leo gui: too "Pimp my Diva" for me! ;) I also have a personal dislike for the use of animal skin in any realistic form, but that's me...

I have been hesitant to dump the samples because I thought I could use them to layer with to fatten and warm things up, but if a synth like Diva can do it alone . . . is there any reason to keep a synth sample library at this time?
Doesn't mean Diva can do any analog synth sound...

Personally, I don't favor samples cause they are static and I'm happily willing to trade absolute realism for the immediacy of synthesis. With Diva, the realism as a snapshot is remarkably close to the essential character of analog and the ability to do modulation surpasses samples. The real beauty of analog is how it sounds while tweaking and modulating and that cannot be found in samples anyway.

It's still up, but the host can be a bit slow (meh, including another link makes makes the forum bots give me a spam alert. :? EDIT: it was the quote :D )

I did like a lot of other hues too. As I said, just a quick hack for now - when Diva's GUI is finalized I'll have another go at skinning. But I wouldn't be surprised if Urs makes changing the hue to taste yourself as easy as it already is for the LEDs. :) (and if not, I'll be happy to make a few variations, it's not much additional work).
Thanks - she's gorgeous! Not that we weren't already going steady...

Yes, I would bet that Urs has considered not "cheapening" the look of Diva too. But I'm going to guess that a lot of us would prefer a feminine look. Maybe we should get the opinions of some real ladies with good taste :P I've always thought a satin texture would work. Or how about a warm fuzzy angora look! :D

In any event, having the option to change skins is the way to go.

I have however been working on the integration of a 3D-renderer and photoshop-like layer tools right into our gui framework. This is dearly necessary for those big plans we have for Zebra and Berlin Modular. One can't seriously do all that design in a 3D software, then add bits and pieces in Photoshop and then do all the layout again in the ui editor. Thus we're reducing the need for Cinema 4D and Photoshop within our workflow.

On the really bright side we also get much faster gui loading times, built-in Hue/Saturation/Gamma support, the chance to resize the gui much sharper, and what not.

I hope to do this throughout Q1 and Q2 2012 while Clemens can tackle some more filters.

Cheers,

;) Urs

Is the sound engine of ACE and DIVA the same?
Both are indeed very CPU-hungry.

Not at all. They share a skeleton, but not a single piece of dsp code.

Yep. Und das hört man ja auch :)

Actually, you're not alone. I agree wholeheartedly on both counts.
