I do take it the PC version will be VST3 as well?

WOHOO! You are gold, mate! :)

VST3 on both Mac and PC.

Mind you, we have only tentatively started yet. A certain customer has strongly suggested VST3 for PC though, so there's a bit of leverage behind that idea (I wouldn't like the next Chris Nolan movie to suffer from lack of Zebra)

Aha...so Hans Zimmer requested VST3 and possible Note expression. I've seen latest Cubase is handling VST3 plugins(and their parameter mappings) much better then any other version of Cubase..

I still have an issue with VST3 and Cubase...still don't support VST instrument audio input unlike some other DAWS, or am I missing something?

I am thinking of the possibility to loading zebra and feeding other audio/inputs through it.

I ws also on the understanding VST expression is only compatible with 3.5 not 3.0 again enlighten me :)

Can someone perhaps influence Steinberg to actual introduce and work on VSTi audio input :) pleeeese :)

Routing Possibilities
Plug-ins can be connected to the host environment in many different ways: Future VST3 Instruments can have audio inputs. As an example, a synthesizer that offers a built-in vocoder will be able to directly receive an audio signal to control the effect. A VST3 plug-in may have multiple MIDI inputs at the same time.
Thats my point SB create and promote the functions yet don't actually implement it only for VST effects not VST3 instrument, so I believe. Which is why I am querying the issue. Just a niggle as had an Virus TI for a while and would love to utilise the VSTi i/o (which is nothing to do with Zebra but I trust reader can see what I am driving at).

Thanks

First, I must agree with the heavyweights on VST3 for PC! :D

Seriously though, the basic fact that you have tentatively started is fantastic news. AND, my sincerest congratulations on the continued recognition, it is more than well deserved!!!

Zebra is just such a delight. One just cannot help but get inspired by it.

Second, I need to express some concern here... I mean, how would it appear if the one in the not-so-shining armor heads into the sunset, *NOT* accompanied by a Zebra? ;)

It's probably already been mentioned yet, but I couldn't be bothered to read the whole 18 pages here, so to be sure..

The x64 Uhbiks all present some horizontal and vertical stripes on their GUI's when changing presets here in Reaper 3.75/x64 on Win7/x64

I think most issues are fixed. Now that Messe and all is over, I think I'll start to shell out new betas one by one...

ACE x64 seems to work pretty flawless so far here on Windows :)

Did you have to rewrite a lot of code/components for 64 bit versions of your plugins or is it a pretty straight-forward conversion from 32 bit?

Does it highly depend on the code language and development platform? Some developers seem to have more difficulties to get out 64 bit versions then others.

Post

I found a problem with Ace x64 when used with Reaper x64.

If you add another instance of Ace the GUI disappears & your left with only Reaper Generic vst GUI. When you close & open the other previous instance of Ace, its GUI is gone too. The only reaosn I'm discovering this now is because I've using Reaper x64 a lot more than usual lately.

Post

Sorry my bad  I just checked & it looks like I was using an older x64 dll than the one provided now in the download link. I've swapped it with the most recent one & it seems to be fine now.

It was pretty straight forward on Windows, I just had to go through the code and fix some ambiguous sections. It was almost a rewrite on Mac, for large parts of the gui stuff (Carbon had to be replaced by Cocoa).

Hi Urs

Firstly kudos for all your hard work and personal support here on KVR (got me to buy into Zebra, Uhbik and recently ACE).

Ignoring my earlier post re VSTi inputs which is based on an existing issue with VSIi audio input using an Access VirusTI 3 outs 1 in within Cubase 6. What benefits/featurs will VST3 support bring to the table with Zebra, guessing expression control any others?

Thanks
