Had the same issue here. Found a workaround by going here: https://www.uvi.net/my-products

You will need to be logged into your UVI account.

Download the Falcon library rev. 2

edit: Download both Falcon Libraries if this is your first time using Falcon (I only needed rev. 2 since I was updating to version 3).

Want an organic sounding Falcon?
Get the Stockhausen expansions Fluidity, Plurality, and Ether Fields. While you’re at it, also get VOKLM and Lo-Fi Dreams.

UVI Portal hasn't been working for me ever.. I have a pending support ticket that is now many months old. They have not been able to solve it.

You need to go the manual route and log in at the website, then go to the old legacy product page (it's a tiny link as mentioned above in a post) and download it from there. It's a .rar package that you open and then move the .ufs file to where you want it and then make sure Falcon finds that file.

Yeah, UVI is a bit of a mess..

bmanic wrote: Fri Oct 20, 2023 10:15 pm Also, I got my missing 3.0 presets problem fixed. It was as I suspected, there was a missing .ufs file in the legacy my-uvi product website. Today I saw that a new rev2.ufs file was added so I downloaded that and now I have a new library available in the browser.
And... and.... ? What do you think about them? I am totally in love on my side.
They have definitely been improved. I'm actually quite impressed. The original factory presets were a mixed bag. There were some really brilliant sounds but a lot of filler/strange sounds that weren't for my taste (that doesn't make them bad though, somebody else might love the ones I didn't).

But in this revised factory selection I've already found quite a few that I've tagged as favorites.
The new library contains the 1,500 presets from the old one which have new macro assignments and prettier graphics. There are only “dozens of all new sounds”. I’m struggling to believe they have re-engineered the over 1,500 old ones from a sound point of view.

Are you sure the fancy new graphics aren’t having a psychoacoustic effect on your perception?
You can directly compare the old to the new. Many of the presets have been changed.

.. and as I alluded to earlier, if you edit the presets and remove all the maximizers and limiters, they will sound even better.

Hello all, has anyone successfully used Falcon's Midi Out on a Mac? I can send Midi out from various applications, even outside of Logic. However, Falcon doesn't appear to be sending Midi, not even within the app itself when using the Midi Out.

Post

there looks like some nice new features.

I was able to get it to work in Live 11 using the VST3 plugin. Still trying to figure out if it will work in Logic.

Sorry for my ignorance as I haven't used Mac in 10 years, but one of the main reasons I stopped using Mac was because audio units in Logic weren't able to transmit midi to other instruments back then. I'm not sure if this has changed, so I apologize if this has changed over the years.

Many thanks again, that did work. One thing I'm noticing straight off the bat is that a lot of the MPE presets are broken and need you to manually add the MPE script processor. :? Poor quality control, to say the least. Did no one even bother trying them? They sound pretty good once you fix them, though.

I'm a new Falcon user. Is there any way to set up default keyboard controller mappings for Falcon Macros? For example, I can set up my controller to map to each of the 4 macros in Pigments, and when I change patches, my controller is still mapped.

For Falcon I set up a Remote Control mapping in Bitwig for the first 8 Host Automations. Then I can right click each Falcon Macros and assign each knob to one of the Host Automations. Works great. But if I load a new Program, the Macro assignments disappear. Do I really have to manually map every Program's macros I want to control? All 1500 of them? Thanks for any help

One of the most frequently asked question and disappointingly the answer is: yes, you will have to assign the Macros to host automation each time you use a patch in a DAW project. Only Midi CC assignments are saved with a given patch (right click on a Macro to assign).

Unless you are relying upon the legacy patch names, there is no need to download both. The old presets are all there, only they are reoganized, renamed, and have nicer UIs.

There was a lot of cruft in the old org structure. As new Falcon versions came out, they added new folders, and often had patch type prefixes, and version number suffixes in the name. All that is cleaned up under a more compact folder structure.

Thanks, Simon. That is disappointing. It seems like something that assigned the first N host automations to the first N macros by default would cover a lot of situations. Oh well. The good news is that with 2 for 1 expansions and my $100 voucher for being a first time user, I picked up 6 expansions for $17, including all 3 of yours. That should keep me busy
