I am so sick of MAGIX invasive pop up banners on my desktop even when not browsing. Advertising deals on low end crap software (e.g. music maker) on my desktop because they acquired my info from Sony (actually I'm originally a Sonic Foundry customer).
It's a good thing I keep my music pc off the Internet as this horrible marketing method interrupts and slows my non-music laptop regularly. I've tried to cleanse this crap off my laptop even reviewing my registry.
Do they think this will win my repeat business on Acid, Sound Forge and Vegas upgrades??? I'm fed up with MAGIX.
Be forewarned that MAGIX does this invasive marketing.
**end rant**![]()

What about use from the other side of the world? The e-mail came at 2am! Bought for the 50% discount, and happy anywaydzilizzi wrote: Fri Dec 14, 2018 12:14 amLOL! I have a job. But I work from home when I'm not traveling and have a home computer available. Fortunately, I don't travel too much in December. But that is what my phone is for. I bought a lot on my phone this year. I am really hoping I didn't miss downloading something. It has happened. Usually inexpensive libraries that caught my attention. But sometimes the download codes only work for a few days and no longer work by the time I get home.kitekrazy wrote: Thu Dec 13, 2018 10:01 pmSuck for us who have jobs than can't use the net anytime they want. Maybe they should try something different for those of use who have bought their stuff. There are some that get pissed about this and yes it's a sense of entitlement. So their intro price is now over valued since they gave it away for free. 40 euros is too much now.dzilizzi wrote: Thu Dec 13, 2018 7:38 pm These freebies are always so great (Thanks Sonokinetic!) I got in before the crowd, but I'm waiting to DL. I think it gets crazier every year. But a lot of fun!
But you are right. There are jobs where you can't be checking your phone (if you have a phone with Internet access) all the time.

I get emails from almost all vendors (software companies and retailers). I just don't want my system using resources for marketing.kaner wrote: Fri Dec 14, 2018 7:28 amThey are spamming me all the time with their newsletter...unsubscribed several times but they just keep comingKevin63101 wrote: Fri Dec 14, 2018 5:35 am I am so sick of MAGIX invasive pop up banners on my desktop even when not browsing.

I genuinely like much of my MAGIX owned software originally developed by Sonic Foundry, then Sony (Sound Forge, Acid, Etc).
I've ordered software that included bundled extras since Magix takeover, some going on my music production offline PC, some on my laptop. Music Maker (tried, then uninstalled a long while ago) is the system pop up ad giving me headache on my Win 10 laptop.
Not sure why Spectralayers Pro installed on my offline Win 7 music production pc since Magix takeover hasn't created the same issues.
Whatevery the reasons ... even if allowed in their EULA agreement ... I don't want this invasive marketing using my system resources.

Yeah, sorry. I seem to remember disabling some stuff after I loaded it but I can't tell you what. I wonder if it phones home every time it opens and resets the stuff you turn off. I really haven't opened it since loading except what is considered the "Pro" stuff.Kevin63101 wrote: Fri Dec 14, 2018 6:01 am Did that and cleaned registry. Then a few weeks later it pops up with latest sale -- even when I'm working on a spreadsheet or something offline.
I shouldn't need to clear off unwelcomed marketing crap from my system ... they already spam my email account with sales enough.

Won't BC Patchwork let me use VST plugins in ProTools? It's been on my list for a while to get, but BC doesn't do much sales. It seems like it lets you combine instruments into cool things as well? I guess it is time for research.
Their MB-7 looks cool too.
These were not in my planned budget!

Thanks Sonokinetic! I was fortunate enough to receive an OSTINATO woodwinds serial. Third year in a row! Although it took a lot of persistence and refreshing. The 12 Days of Christmas gifts have inspired me to purchase other items, including Maximo, and love them all.

My cart crashed. I checked several times and received no email. I had to go back to the order page several times until it went through. Once it went through, I was redirected to my software license page. I think there were like 2100 left when it finally was successful. If the cart crashed, probably no license was recorded.dzilizzi wrote: Thu Dec 13, 2018 8:48 pmYes, I got in as soon as the timer changed and before they sent out the email. I found the first year it gets really crazy and no matter how much they try to prepare for it, it is like Black Friday at Walmart in the electronics section. Fortunately, nobody ended up in the hospital. I don't think.Kalamata Kid wrote: Thu Dec 13, 2018 8:38 pmThanks for the thought. I thought about trying to grab another one or two for people who missed out, but I don't think you can transfer SK's products.
when I visited the Sonokinetic site there sere 3100 Free available then
I tried to log in but they wanted me to reset my password
'that't when it all went downhill. Too bad is it was n great deal
I missed out on.
I'm kind of curious how it all ends up. People were getting it in the cart and crashing when paying, then it would show up in their email. So there may be more given away than planned or less. Hard to say. But I think Sonokinetic is great for doing this every year. I managed to get all three free. Now just waiting to actually buy something from them. There isn't too much left LOL!

I'm not a protools user, so can't say about its specifics.dzilizzi wrote: Fri Dec 14, 2018 5:43 pm Won't BC Patchwork let me use VST plugins in ProTools? I do use Patchwork quite a bit though and know I can load it as a synth or fx.
They do some semi-regular sales, but the discounts aren't anything spectacular. Since they went NFR though, I can't seem to justify even the sale price unless it's in a charity auction. So I have the master pack, Patchwork, Axiom, and all their freebies (got the MP & Axiom both in auction). I use Patchwork regularly and see Axiom is going to get a lot of use too. The others, I use infrequently, but I do use them. Been looking at MB7 for awhile now and wished I would have bid on it on the last auction. But the deal on it now seems to be their standard deal and probably shouldn't expect to find it for less. If I ever see it for 40-50% off or in the next auction, I'll definitely make a grab for it.

I think the Ostinato series is worth their full price. The fact that it was a gift at some point has zero affect on the value. Obviously we all want to benefit from a gift or a great sale. But it is a priceless feeling that I get when a tool helps me accomplish something quicker, or gets an idea from my head to others ears. I am anxious to see what other deals come from Sonokinetic this year. They way they roll it out is also quite awesome. Gladly I have most of their products, but they never fail to surprise.
