anyway...im not able to load this preset anymore..it just skips in zebra...

what am i doin wrong?

thank & heads up for the great work man!!

cheers :-o
1) BlueberryThing does not at this time attempt to force an OSC into SpectroBlend if you were using it in BT when you generated the patch, but it probably will in the future. For now you have to do that manually in Zebra.

2) Sounds like you saved the BlueberryThing generated patch over an already existing patch (name). BlueberryThing patches are not complete patches in themselves, and cannot be "merged" into another patch, they are more like the "Delta" patches that I was making several months ago, because they only change the OSC's Waves. You might load a patch in Zebra, then load the BlueberryThing patch in order to change the Osc-Waves. So a BlueberryThing patch is essentially the same as an OSC preset (but it's not).

3) From the screenshot I don't see any harmonics showing in the lower right corner (above Italy) so there would only be silence. You can a) increase the Gain, b) move the Base Freq to a place where there is non-silent harmonic content, c) decrease the sample set by moving the start/end markers closer together. There's nothing wrong with using larger sample clips per OscWave (and in fact I think some interesting atmospheric stuff might come from that), but smaller pieces will be less "noise" versus recognizable content.

4) Probably better to avoid checking OscX until you get a feel for what it does (tries to do). OscX will write the Waves to all active OSC's, rather than specific ones. Even though the controls for all 64 Waves are visible, the only ones that have code generated in a patch are the Enabled (green button) ones.

It may also help to open up the BlueberryThing generated patch in a text editor and have a look. There are no compressed binary blobs, so it's all pretty "readable". You might even discover a bug or two in the script  which I definitely want to know about.

Update - As of SVN 98 saving BlueberryThing project files is now possible. Unfortunately, opening these files is not (yet).

Update - What's happening lately?

1) Staring at the wall in an existential quandary.

2) Learning to speak British so that shows on the BBC (like Torchwood) begin to make sense.

3) Riding around the neighborhood on a bicycle throwing things.

4) Thinking about the paint (or the lack thereof) that's peeling off the bathroom walls.

5) Unclogging various drains.

6) Eating. Dieting. Giving the scale the stink-eye.

7) Very slowly finishing the Blueberry Thing project File->Open code.

Blueberry Thing - Version 0.0.8 (based on SVN123)

The big deal new feature for Ver 0.0.8 is the ability to do File->New, Open, Save, and SaveAs via Blueberry Thing project files (which have a .btp extension). Audio sample data is *not* stored in these files, just the path to the original audio file. Both absolute and relative paths are saved, so if the project file is moved, an attempt is made to locate the audio file(s) on either of the two paths.

The validation code for these project files is not very complete (on the TODO list), so for example, say that space aliens sneak into your studio and pull up your Blueberry Thing project file, which is in text editor compatible XML format, and they think it's ROFL hilarious to type alien words like "bobogeek", or "shnufblat", into the file, which is only funny if you're a really young or childish alien, then Blueberry Thing might do something bad when it tries to parse and/or convert that to a number, although chances are it will either ignore it or change it into a zero.

...got MY attention! :tu:

Just curious, is this still being developed at all?

Phew, finally found this thread. The Blueberry thing seems to open on my Intel machine (reacts extremely sluggish but I could live with that...) and even seems to somewhat work. Yeah well, blame it on me, but I really don't know how to operate it at all. Any hints?

Cheers

I couldn't work with it either... :-(.
Real shame, because something like this (or the similar Wav2Z2) it would open Zebra up to whole new horizon!

Exactly. Even if it only was for analysis purposes (hey, I'm no synth programmer, I need to stare at things...), it'd still be invaluable.
I tried to rebuild the waveform of a bass that I sampled many moons ago (I made a rather useful patch of just that single sample) - but it never seemed to work, so I thought I'd like to import the looped section of it into one waveform slot. Btw, another thing I don't know: What's the maximum length of a waveform Zebra could deal with (using either WavToZ2 or the Blueberry thing)? Just one cycle?

128 samples.

I had better luck using GNU Octave and billstei's octave scripts for wave conversion. I'll write up a tutorial for this when I get the chance...

I am currently in the high grass with this thing, and every other .h2p app trying to mangle wavs from NI Massive.
I cant say as I have any specific questions yet, because I am just clueless what to do with these freaky things so far.

But does anyone know what happened to billstei?

Yeah I kinda miss the guy. He was a freaking mad genious, literally. I remember cooking up this stupid fart patch in Zebra, and Billstei posted a song he made with it the same evening. I don't think i ever laughed so hard with a song.

I'll PM him to see if he's still alive.
