nice changes birrbits, the layering sounds more natural now.
One general question about dk+ if anyone knows, why when playing from a controller keyboard do the samples cut out and soon as you release a key? I noticed if I hold any key down while manually drumming it lets the samples ring out but I only have so many fingers :) perhaps I don't have something set up correctly?
cheers

edit(yes my 1985 jx8p is the problem here, it sends a all notes off cc after I release a key, thanks birrbits)

maximilians, the samples don't cut out for me when releasing a key. I would assume that my keyboard is generating a midi note off upon release.
I suppose you could try looking at the events with midi-ox.

I also forgot to mention, with this version of the kit I would reccomend using the 'do not normalize' option in DK+

finally I checked it, thanks birrbits!

no sure which version I have,
but I like a lot the snare, the bass drum and the cowbell,
the HH sounds very hard hit (?)

BTW do you want me to upload it at
http://thedkplus.dashsignature.com

Thanks!
I'll be taking a trip in a few weeks to rerecord the cymbals with a more appropriate set of mics. (The Rode NT1 I used is really too sensitive for that type of thing).
The snare is a mix of the nt1 at a distance and a close mic sm57. The bass was with a superlux pra-51a (awesome cheap bass mic).

Please do post the kit on the user site.

Also, tonight I'm finishing up a second DK+ kit project, will post soon.

:hyper: more goodies? :D. Do you have other cowbell samples? this one is a little flat to me.(i hate to say anything),but it doesn't really match the agggresive nature of the other samples.

no, you are right to say it :)

that cowbell sample wasn't taken from that 'session'...
its from a really old recording of his kit

The cowbell is definately on the list, besides you can't just have ONE cowbell sample :hihi:

Hey birrbits, I finally got around to playing the kit. I love it- rough and raw, I am using it in a track now, if I ever finish it :D I will post it for you to hear. I would love to hear some more kits from you- one can never have enough live, unprocessed drum sounds, IMHO.

Sounds great pw, I would love to hear the track.

For my next drum sampling project.....I was actually contemplating a certain MediaVision Waveblaster daughtercard....soundset by a company who rhymes with Borg :hihi:

Update #2 (or do I say version #3?) coming this weekend following my trip to rerecord the drums (and especially the cymbals)...
