And I agree with Solafide, what DK+ needs is more quality samplesets..
for the upgrade I will post more later

This is exactly as I see DK+. If I want real drums, I usually go to other synths or soundfonts.liqih wrote:strangely DK+ was intended as a vintage drum machine emulator, you know all those sample from old gears,
looks like things are going in the following direction:fac wrote:I just noticed this post and listened to the demo clips. I love these kits and I was planning to buy them next month, but now I'm unsure if I should buy them or wait for the DK+ upgrade.
I'm also interested in more kits like these, and if the work has already been done setting them up for DK+, I don't see the point of taking them out of sale.
What should I do?
all the extra sets are two sets so far, <grin>fac wrote:This is exactly as I see DK+. If I want real drums, I usually go to other synths or soundfonts.liqih wrote:strangely DK+ was intended as a vintage drum machine emulator, you know all those sample from old gears,
But if this is the case, why aren't there any new electronic kits for DK+ ? All the extra sets are from real instruments.
Excellent!liqih wrote: looks like things are going in the following direction:
1) there will be a Set One LE (a ten pads kit) included in the DK+ upgrade,
2) full Set One will stay on sale,
2) who bought Set One before the upgrade will get the DK+ upgrade for free
what you think?

I'm still unclear about exactly what's gonna happen with upgrades and so on, but I don't actually care. DK+ is an excellent piece of software and Luigi treats his customers right. We're gonna come out all right on this. You gotta support that.
I also feel that Luigi shouldn't take down the Funk set. Maybe sell if for a reduced price to people who get the upgrade, assuming that the upgrade doesn't include the full set. He may not have made much money off of it so far, but I could see it being one of those slow but steady sellers as the product's life span lengthens.
Take care,

Personally I'm not really into the vintqage thing, so I'm definitely interested in any accustic offerings you put out.good to know, strangely DK+ was intended as a vintage drum machine emulator, you know all those sample from old gears,

BTW none of the free acoustic kit on that page is good to you? just curious
Spot on! I have tried several drum VSTis but nothing compares to DK+. I've even stopped using my hardware drum machines. And I use DK+ for acoustic drums.Solafide wrote:To my ears theese samples are good enough to stay in the song.
Yeah, but drum synths won't give you some of those classic drum machine sounds - especially those drum machines which are sample-based.jens wrote:But if I need electronic drums I usually either use Drumatic or Attack.
For soundfonts I use either sfz or DS864 (from Project-5). As you say, you can't tweak individual sounds, but with acoustic kits I usually just need to tune some of the hits.jens wrote:hm - what are you using to load the soundfonts? What other 'synths' are you using?
The problem with soundfonts and e.g. SFZ is that you can't influence the sound (or not much) - things like panning-control, multi-out, etc. are crucial for me for mixing acoustic drums/percussion.
Hence DK+ is imo an almost perfect choice for it.
Have you checked out the demos for the upcoming Ambient Drums for dk+?fac wrote:DK+ is probably the one I use the most, but it really needs more kits - both electric and acoustic.
then main problem with all the acoustic kits I know is that they're based on a fundamental misconception (Liqih read carefully, you might learn somethingfac wrote: As you say, you can't tweak individual sounds, but with acoustic kits I usually just need to tune some of the hits.
