about the exporting note length- I see what you mean. However,I do find it very fiddly to edit the exported midi at those note lengths....there are work arounds though, so...

exactly, if we choose that way you'll have a switch whichsilicon/silicium wrote:what about charging old song, changinig preference and saving again??the problem with 2 new outs is that you can't load old songs with DK+ if you set "2 new outs" in preferences, you must change prefernces each time you load an old song,
would set the # of outs on load, 9 or 11,
songs saved with 9 outs in DK+ will not load with preferences to 11, and vice versa.
Or there is the way to use Aux 3 and don't add extra outs,
we have to choose, now!
sorry that's not better for me, <grin>or even better keep the old dk+ alive, and have a new dll like dk++?
but if many more users will ask that..

well, probably better to keep compatibility than break it, so, I guess go for the aux 3 choice. The extra outputs would only work for the send anyway, right??
I prefer it is not a new dll, too.liqih wrote: sorry that's not better for me, <grin>

and what about having more out buttons: 1+2, 3+4, 5+6, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6??
would add flexibility without hurting current setup, isn't it?

and---is drag n drop things planned? drag n drop to layer, having an independant browser window, preview in context when dragging on a cell or on a layer??

This sounds perfect to me because I rarely use all outputs.liqih wrote: on the other hand if Aux 3 will be used nothing changes for
old songs, but you need to dedicate Aux 3 if you wnat to use
the new FX send function

If I may throw a feature request in here...
After adding the extra kits from the user's page and then buying the DK+ version of Ambient Drums, I've got a lot of kits.
Kit selection is now awkward. Can submenu capabilities be added to the kit selection window, so that user add-on kits can be organized into categories of the user's choice?

maybe, I will investigate about that for the next update,silicon/silicium wrote:and what about having more out buttons: 1+2, 3+4, 5+6, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6??

anyway I'd like to keep the DK+ an affordable & light plugin,
we already have monster drum VST on the market, or am I wrong?

doesn't the current preview in context method work for you?silicon/silicium wrote:and---is drag n drop things planned? drag n drop to layer, having an independant browser window, preview in context when dragging on a cell or on a layer??

yes it does, but it's far less intuitive than having an independant skinned browser window (with some "favorite folders") and drag n dropping. I just say that because in my quest of my future holy drum sampler, I tested GURU wich has this interesting feature.doesn't the current preview in context method work for you?
moreover, it ll add more consistency between the way you insert or replace samples, in the same way of working. that's just my point, of course I can live with the current previewer.
I test the demo more and more, will buy it soon, I learn to build kits, and currently my way of doing that is having an energyXT browser for previewing easilt samples (ext browser makes you preview on righ clicl on a sample, real breeze), a window explorer focused on the same folder (for easy browsing with the folder tree), and drag n dropping to dk+ cells (and that's really annoying when you want to add an extra layer.
having a single included browser and some preview on drag n drop could make the process really easier.
again it's just some idea, and my way of working is propably not the way other people work.
at least I don't, I m trying and learning some drumsamplers, most of them either has too much features (tons of modulations, crossfaing things....) or are very simples. the multi outs are just an annoying habits I keep from my work on real drums, with trying to have elements as separate as possible to have as much editing opportunities as I can. so if I need to cut 3db one 1800hz on the hh and boost 2db on the 430hz of the snare after recording the voice...we already have monster drum VST on the market, or am I wrong?

I meant as a multiple level menu, like User kits > Ambient Drums > Bell kit.
Just the kits on the DK+ User page + the kits in Ambient Drums add up to more than 20 kits. The standard Factory and Custom Kits add up to an additional 36 or so.

I saw what you meant, but I can't change all the way DK+ find samples so easily, <grin>winescape wrote:liqih wrote:ok I have added 3 sub menus, Factory, Custom and Userwinescape wrote:If I may throw a feature request in here...

so far I can give you one level sub menus, but there is also
a quick browser button to jump to the folder with the banks,
you'll see

later tomorrow I will release DK 1.5!
What's new in DK+ 1.5:
1) Funk Equipment Kit1a LE (15 pads, 10 layers each), a reduced version of the big FE Set One,
has been included with 21 styles in the DK+ Library.
2) Kit and Style names are now saved with the host song or project.
Also, they will be marked with a "*" if edited before saving.
3) Drag&Drop export of internal MIDI file patterns.
4) Added a global preference to use the FX Send control as a send gain on the Aux 3 output as an alternative to the Reverb send per pad.
5) The velocity controlled filter of each pad can now be selected as LP or HP, greatly extending sonic possibilities.
6) More controls for improved usability: Reverb toggle on panel, button for quicker banks browsing, Kit submenus.
8 ) Small fixes and further optimizations.
BTW I also want to add the feature that some of you asked : note trigger = pattern start from 1
but it will be in the next update, ASAP anyway
