We'll hopefuly add more filters in the subsequent releases. And after that we'll work on the oscillators to improve their algorithms.

For those of you who want to create "warmer" oscillators with SynthMaster, here's an important recipe:

1. Use a 2+ oscillator combination, i.e. Osc 1 + Osc 2 on

2. Set both of their waveforms to "saw"

3. Add some tune spread. By adding tune spread, the oscillators will be detuned randomly at note onsets: Sound Clip

4. Set the frequency envelope velocity sensitivity of Osc 2 to +1/-1. That will make the frequency of Osc 2 velocity dependent: Sound Clip

5. Finally, set the phase of Osc 2 to the max level (127), and set the phase velocity sensitivity of Osc 2 to the max level (+64): Sound Clip

Enjoy :)

i like, but a lil pricey :)

i have used the free version and i agree with feng it was very complicated to me being pretty new to synths and i thought the presets were weak but i also have sytrus loaded with over 1000 dx7 patches so i got discouraged without giving much of a try it looks like it probably has amazing capabilities. i got it when they fist put it out so maybe i'll give it another shot now that i know a little more.

I downloaded the demo of Synth Master and I am pleasantly surprised by the accessibillity of the ui, it is clean and the buttons are not too fiddly and small. Soundwise this VST is has quite a punch to deliver, although the filers are a bit harsh, maybe smoothing them out or at least offer smoothed version of them offers the extra bit of sonic fidelity to it. Some of the presets are a bit blunt and they don't show what this beast is capable of, best advise for anyone is to skip the presets and try the synth out with creating own sounds, you can do quite amazing sound with it due to it's offered osc's.

The conception is ideal an sounds are great.

The must is educational presets: it's very easy to see how he work. Great to create your own presets.

I like the approach you are taking with this. I hope everyone who wins takes the time to give Synth Master a thorough review. Best of luck!

I tried the demo some time back and it seemed a good product.
My problem was I couldn't justify spending more on VST's due to VST overload. I have thinned down and refined my VST folder now to a more reasonable number so this may be a candidate for the future.

I tried to create a track with it last time you had a competition, but the demo limitations were a tad annoying to me so I didn't bother. Some of the sounds were really nice though and I agree with other comments that the presets really need to shine and showcase what this synth can do!

So far, from what I have experienced with the kind NFR copy they provided me with (for review in an upcoming Wusik Sound Magazine), I have really enjoyed using this synth. It has a great analog sound with noticeable warmth and great arp capability. I will be putting this virtual instrument through its paces, but I really like what I see and hear already.

I am pleased with my synthmaster demo. Definitely a good alternative to the 1,000 dollar synths typically used in producing synth leads/pads. I play the piano, so being able to use the keyboard as a controller for synthmaster is a definite bonus. The 5 sound/key limit does get in the way a lot of the time, but hey, if the demo version was just like the full version, who'd buy it? Good product!

Like Stanlea I really like the sounds, remind me of some OldSkool patches of most different origins, like PPG to name just one. But Synthmaster is very versatile. It sounds digital AND analogue.
Other than funkychickendance I'm into tweaking. And that's Synthmasters domain. I'll go on using it and let it be the free version. I'd buy it, if it was cheaper, though in comparison to others it's worth. I just spend a good money on hardware the last year. And now I'm so broke, it really had to be cheaper to make me buy more than five voices. But I still hope to be among the chosen tenth. Thanks to kv331.
