Also... I would say please leave the detuning as it is. It sounds good to my ears. For whatever that might be worth, ha ha! :)

But seriously. +1 to what Arksun said...

And if Synth1 already does what you want it to and in the way in which you want it done, then why not just use Synth1 for that particular kind of sound? And use Sylenth1 for the others. But again, maybe that's just me being strange.

Hi Lennard,

I dont know if this is supposed to be like that but why is there a bug in the oscs? On some notes the full spectrum can be heared while on others the high frequencies are cut off so it doesnt sound as bright. Here is an image of a saw: (the green is the E4 note and the purple is F4)

That's not a bug, it's a feature ;) If the spectrum would not be cut off it would exceed the Nyquist frequency thus causing aliasing noise. On some notes the cutoff is a bit lower than on others because of performance issues, but it's all highly tweaked and tested to give the best quality/performance ratio. Even at the lowest cutoff the difference can not be heard.

But if it's really bothering you, just use a higher samplerate. The Nyquist frequency and thus the cutoff will be higher then and will easily exceed all human hearing capabilities. Although I don't think anyone can really hear the difference at 44.1kHz already.

I didnt know that this was so scientific.

Also before I forget, would it be possible in a future update to be able to link the lfos to the ocs fine? What I wanted to make is use three ocsc, have one normal, and the two others pitch being modulated by LFO at different speeds. But since there is only Pitch A and Pitch B which is available at the moment, I cannot do what I had in mind. If we could have the pitch of each ocs that would be great!

Most Mac users are using Logic which justifies the high demand for Audio Units. Lennard, how is everything coming along with it? Hopefully not toooo much longer. :)

I also agree with arksun. Sylenth1 have its own sound and for me its a one of the best softsynth ever made.

I have noticed this too, the oscs are not 100% perfectly aliased it seems. Tried the same test with Thor and it was always equally bright and smooth, the FFT analyser also confirmed my suspicions.

I wonder what's going on there...

I'm sorry but your post doesn't make sense for several reasons:

1. I've already explained the effect shown in the picture just a few posts above. The effect is there on purpose to make the osc sound BETTER, not worse.

2. You say that the osc is not 100% perfectly aliased, but what you'd really want is an osc that is 100% FREE of aliasing. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aliasing

3. If you meant to say that the osc is not 100% free of aliasing, that's not true either. The sound WOULD contain aliasing noise if it was NOT cut off like in the picture. If it would try to generate frequencies higher than the Nyquist frequency (half the sampling rate), these frequencies would fold back into the spectrum and cause audible aliasing noise through the signal. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nyquist_frequency

4. The effect scales with the sampling rate you run Sylenth1 on. The highest frequencies are cut off just before half the samplerate to prevent aliasing. So if you are running Sylenth1 on 96 kHz sampling rate for example, that would make the frequencies cut of just before 48 kHz, which is more than 2 times higher than the highest frequency the human ear can possibly hear.

Hope that clears up things.
