Racks exist independently of tracks.

Thank you for sharing a link to that old, but apropos, training video.phledo wrote:It's a feature.tonedef71 wrote:So is this behavior a bug (or a "feature")?
Racks exist independently of tracks.
Take a look at this video:
You can't delete input and output pins from a plugin, only the input and output channels (pins) of the rack. One other thing that I remember encountering while creating rack filters was the frustrating behaviour after I had just finished deleting the extra inputs and outputs from a plugin in the rack, they would return immediately whenever I would subsequently click that particular plugin in the rack again. Is that normal behavior?
For what its worth I am using EZMix2 vst3 in 64 bit windows with no issues at all.tonedef71 wrote:If you create a rack filter that contains the EZMix 2 plugin, add it to a track, and save the edit; then the next time you try to open the edit, T6 will crash to the desktop. Also, if you save a rack filter that contains the EZMix 2 plugin as a plugin, it will crash T6 if you try to add it to a track. I did email the T6 crash log to Tracktion support.
Thank you.dRowAudio wrote:Thanks tonedef71, we are looking into the issue with EZMix.
My bad. The "extra inputs and outputs" I deleted were the pins from the rack -- not a plugin. They really did return when I clicked one of the plugins in the rack.dRowAudio wrote:I'm not quite sure what you mean when by this:You can't delete input and output pins from a plugin, only the input and output channels (pins) of the rack. One other thing that I remember encountering while creating rack filters was the frustrating behavior after I had just finished deleting the extra inputs and outputs from a plugin in the rack, they would return immediately whenever I would subsequently click that particular plugin in the rack again. I have been trying to remember what exactly I was doing at the time when this behavior happened. Unfortunately, I have not yet been able to retrace my steps and replicate the issue. If I do uncover the issue again, I will do my best to post better instructions on how to replicate it.dRowAudio wrote:Could you provide some exact steps so I can replicate the issue?
I cannot create a distinct, unique instance of a rack preset in T6. I can do so in T5. Seeing is believing...dRowAudio wrote:If you create a new rack from a preset it does indeed create a new, unique rack type. You should see this as a separate entry in the "new plugin" pop-up menu (under "Create New Empty Rack"). You might want to rename any racks you create to help distinguish them in your Edit.

Thank you!dRowAudio wrote:...this should be sorted in the next release (6.0.25)...
