Don't think I've ever had a warning here on KVR. So I like it the way it is.

Maybe I had this "romantic idea" that moderating at KVR was like a VIP clubelassi wrote:C'mon, the idea of the sig was sooo obvious.

Is that a personal reflection or is it to be considered as a statement from KVR?bluedad wrote:That is just total bull shit.sfd wrote:Psss....I'll tell you a secret.
The moderators have two main objectives. The first is to make sure that KVR's partners don't get to much criticism. After all KVR is an advertising platform.
And so posting in wrong forums et cetera is of little interest as long as it doesn't harm or came to some kind of disadvantage to the partners.
I'll badmouth IK and Sampletank3 any day of the week.
The only rules mods have, are those same ones that you can read. So, to think that we're here to protect partners, wtf, and I'm not getting paid you think I'm going to protect someone? Give me a break.
Anyway, yes, we could use more mods. I've been at kvr since 2001 (great crash made me reregister); and things change. I've been a mod 8 years or so; I'm just not that interested any more. I come here out of a sense of duty a couple of times every day, but really the things some of y'all fuss and fight about drive me nuts.
Maybe you could enlighten us with what directives KVR give the moderators?

Do you seriously think they get directives to kill all criticism towards companies? Don't you see how much shit most companies have to take in these forums every day? Looks to me as if people get a bit blind on both eyes with certain perceptions.

It would lower your burden imho. This is also how I feel, not that interested into kvr any more (At least the forum interactive side). And according to many discussions with varius kvrians here and there, or just reading them in some posts, I came to the conclusion I was not the only one. So that, maybe the solutions, if it's not *only me*, might came, at least partly, on the organisational side, and trying to make things a little better. I don't know. Maybe a forum is like any other living organism, or empire, it grows, has a peek, then decreases slowly in a kind of lethargy without people populating it becoming aware.
Kvr used to be an attractive forum, with a sense of community that imo has been decreasing for a while. Discussions were civil, interesting, with valuable inputs, there was a kind of underlying joy of participating into that. Nowadays, between the weekly rants ( I tell you this synth is just sh.t, because it doesnt install on my system, or the gui is too small/too big/too blue/not like this one that i like etc) , and the rancid hysterical shouts from some exhausted old posters whose hatred barely maintain them alive, quite few is left of what I liked. There is still some good info, and nice discussions, but, buried in a pile of useless or, worse, unpleasant things ).
But like I said, maybe it's just me

Hmmm, but if they were in the wrong place, surely a moderator would have moved them in response to your predictably whiny little posts about it.Numanoid wrote:Don't worry too much about it, your posts are always in the wrong place anyhow.whyterabbyt wrote:I certainly dont care about obsessing over whether or not a post is in the 'right' forum.

Separating synthesizers from the sounds produced by synthesizers always seemed very weird to me.Sampleconstruct wrote:The entire Soundware forum was a bad idea, either everything related to commercial sound libraries, samples, sample packs, soundsets, preset expansions, dildos, wonderbraws and whatnot goes into one forum, or everything is scattered all over, but as it is now it makes no sense whatsoever. But I don't care anymore...
As if there should be still another forum name "furnitureware' for those who only use synths as shelves, stands for the aquarium or dog plate, instead of making sounds with them ...

Agree. It seems to be more and more difficult for companies and users (tbh just certain users, but amongst the most *vocals*) to coexist in a single place. Probably the reason why most companies have either completely left Kvr, or just appear from times to times. I can see this tendancy just going on in the future.chk071 wrote:Do you seriously think they get directives to kill all criticism towards companies? I believe the partners are allowed to moderate their own forums.
And so because of that and the impression, or fact, that KVR's moderators are less active now then in the past, due to reasons you mentioned earlier, it appears like the entire forum is moderated the way I described. Not as a result of a policy but rather because this is how the site came to develop - as Lotuzia described.
People, inlcluding moderators, loosing interest. The developers keeping an eye on their own forums and their own obvious interests. Making their forum more moderated then the rest of the site.
And, as the saying goes, "when the cat is gone the rats are dancing on the table". So, the forum is getting less civilized. And you've this spiral going....
I think more moderators would be good. At least I would like to see some efforts to bring down the level quarells and childish behaviour. That said I don't mean that arguing should not be allowed. However it should be hold in a civil manner.
